5 star accommodation, clean, well equipped. Lots of wild life, awesome night skies. Peaceful. Great place to unwind and relax.
Touchdown Cottages is the perfect holiday accommodation for humans and their dogs. It has spacious grounds for the dogs and Cosi (Gary's dog) just steals your heart. My dog made his first friend here with Cosi.
Other than that, the amenities here are great - lovely kitchen, spacious bathroom, well-appointed rooms, clean linen, good mobile reception ( my previous stay in the snowy mountains was at Talbingo where only Telstra was available), Location is just 5 minutes from the town so it was really easy to grab something from Woolies. There were emus and kangaroos in the surrounding bush.
We loved staying at Touchdown Cottages. Solar powered cottage, gas cooking, log fire, two toilets, emus and wallabies hopping through the property, plus friendly little Cosi the dog. There were even Navy helicopters refuelling at the airstrip which made for some exciting views.
The fully-equipped kitchen and large fridge meant that we easily cooked all our dinners during our stay and were toasty warm with the log fire. Special thanks to Mitch (Gary's son) and Heidi, who restocked the kindling and firewood each day and happily answered all of our questions. This was the perfect location for us with 2 teens and 2 adults for a few days skiing. Definitely would stay again.
Stayed here for three nights with my partner while we explored the surrounding area. Touchdown Cottages are located on the Dalgety Road just out of the main part of town, so it's very quiet at night. The cottages are self contained and are clean and comfortable. Highly recommended and we would be happy to return.
Handy to Jindabyne. The property, with modern 2-bdrm Eco-cabins, felt very private. A tiny airstrip is nearby, with occasional small plane. We enjoyed photographing the wallabies, emus, and horses that wandered into a nearby field. The cabin was roomy, with modern bathrm & kitchen. The hosts were very helpful, e.g., suggesting places to eat. Being away from town meant that we enjoyed a spectacular night sky and incredible quiet. We learned more about the 'eco' aspects of the property. Thanks Gary, for a truly relaxing, special holiday.
