Similar to the prior review we were pretty disappointed with Siesta Villas.

The staff were nice but from there it was downhill:
* Our room was nothing like the photos on the website and in serious need of renovation.
* The bar/restaurant balcony backs on to rooms 401 - 405 and we were kept awake until 2am both nights by smokers; drinkers; and even children.
* It is located around 10kms from Jindabyne town centre

Overall if you decide to stay; make sure you get a renovated room; located well away from the bar/restaurant area.

One thing that irritates me more than anything, is false advertisement. This may well be a case of a motel with one or two decent rooms that they advertise with the rest being rubbish. Our room was rubbish.

This motel gives a bad impression from the moment you drive in since it looks run down and shabby from the outside but, as other reviewers have said, its actually surprisingly nice in the rooms. This was sadly not the case for us.

Our hearts sank when we walked into our cold and miserable room. The bathroom resembles a public toilet, cold (absolutely no heating), windows which don't fit the window (adding to the cold), mouldy shower base, smelly old shower curtain, no soap and ladies shock, horror NO hairdryer! The shower was either scolding or freezing...taking a shower was pure comedy! Did I mention it was cold?

The bed was great, clean and comfortable. That, people is the only plus. The carpet was dirty, TV had a very poor reception, remote didn't work, no milk, no telephone, non-existent room service...here just expect the bed to be made. Bathroom products are not replenished, nor is tea, coffee, milk. The walls are plasterboard so don't expect that thing called 'sleep'.

Welcomed back one afternoon to no heating or hot water. Went to sit in the bar to warm up, but the fires hadn't even been lit. Its the middle of winter! Problem was fixed in the evening, so not the end of the world, but hey, when your paying $258 a night you would at least expect a hot shower and a room that was warm.

Breakfast was hit and miss. Cereals, toast, tinned fruit, yogurt and cooked choices which were average. Staff are all friendly and do their best. Sent us up an extra heater. But we're paying $258 a night...shouldn't need to even ask!

I came away from this weekend away to the snow (which we only do once a year), feeling completely ripped off. I've honestly stayed in better hostels. The whole experience ruined our weekend. Obviously wont be back.

I booked Siesta Villa on Wot If as a one night getaway for my partner and I. As the other reviews said, I was a bit disheartended when we arrived, I judged a book by its cover. But the staff were so welcoming and friendly, and the room was just spectacular. It is a different design to anything ive seen before, but it works so well and the shower was incredible! It is a tranquil location with beautiful views across the lake. The breakfast was lovely with juic, toast, cereal and fruit & youghurt out. Would definately stay here again.

Room Tip: Book a spa suite

I stayed at Siesta Villa over the Easter weekend with my husband and 3 young kids. Paid $125 per night for a 6 person room and buffet breakfast. We weren't expecting much of the rooms when we saw the outside of the motel, it's a bit tired and could do with a spruce-up. However the room was great, recently renovated, all new furnishings and bedding (very comfortable beds), and really good underfloor heating.

The communal parts (reception, games room, dining room etc) are kind of old fashioned but comfortable and have been updated. My husband spent a couple of evenings at the bar chatting to the manager and had a great time.

The buffet breakfast was better than expected - cereals, yoghurt, toast, sausages, bacon, eggs etc. Really good value as it's included in the room price.

The location in East Jindabyne is a 5-10 min away from the main part of Jindabyne and is right on the lake, lots of nice trees and room for the kids to run around.

Only issue would be with housekeeping, it was a bit hit and miss, e.g. one day the used tea/coffee cups in the room weren't removed and replaced.

We stayed at Siesta Villa in Jindabyne for the first time this April and have enjoyed it so much that we have decided to go back sometime this year. Dennis and his wife Indira are wonderful hosts, warm and welcoming and extremely helpful. We stayed in a spa suite, which was absolutely gorgeous and had the most amazing views of Lake Jindabyne. Siesta Villa is in East Jindabyne and only a short drive away from the town centre and has been the perfect base to explore the Snowy Mountains from. Highly recommend it! Very good value for money!

We stayed in this motel on the outskirts of Jindabyne for one night before heading up to Smiggins. This was the only motel I could get a one night booking for on a Saturday night in Jindabyne and it cost $200 for the room. As soon as we opened the door our hearts sank. We weren't expecting luxury, but the state of the peeling paint on the tiles and floor in the bathroom, and the draught coming in through the bathroom window made this a one star motel for a 3 star price.
In its favour, the bed was good, and the furnishings ok.
The motel has a restaurant and bar/lounge area in a separate building, and the meal was ok. Staff were friendly.
However, a bathroom refurbishment should be carried out promptly- even just a repaint would help. Next time we will stay at Berridale before heading up to the snow.

Let me get one thing straight from the start - my rating is for really great value for money, I'd hate to imply that this is any sort of 4 star property.

That said, the SiestaVilla motel is an unexpectedly cosy and welcoming place for the money - I doubt that there is another place as comfortable and clean reasonably close to the snow.

We paid A$100/night for a room with a queen bed and a double sofa bed. The rooms have recently been renovated and are a notch up from your normal motel room. They are bright, reasonably large, clean and pleasantly decorated.

There are tea/coffee making facilities, a fridge, plenty of storage space and good heating. There is a decent TV but no phone in the room (they presumably assume that we all have mobiles nowadays - fair enough). The bathrooms are still basic but functional - I suspect that these will be the next on the list for a makeover.

The great pleasure about this place is the lounge and bar area. They have several blazing woodstoves around with lots of comfortable seating, a well stocked bar and large flatscreen TVs. Just what you want after your day on the slopes.

SiestaVilla is run by a couple of ex-world-cup skiers from Liechtenstein who are bringing a real sense of Europe to Jindabyne. They are absolutely charming and all of the staff we met were friendly and welcoming.

East Jindabyne is about 10 minutes drive from the centre of town so you'll need your car if you're going to go out in the evening. Their own restaurant has Swiss specialities like rosti and raclette as well as the usual steaks etc. - tasty and filling but the restaurant area is a little lacking in atmosphere.

Breakfasts are very basic but good value. Simple cereals, toast and bacon/sausage/beans/egg. Decent fuel for a chilly day.

I unhesitatingly recommend the SiestaVilla as great value and will return there. It is far from perfect, but at $100/night in the ski season you won't get better.
