Based upon previous reviews we went along for dinner on wednesday night expecting a good meal. I would have been happy with reasonable but this was just bad 80's chinese. Be it from the tasteless chicken fried rice (for the little ones), which came with pineapple, tomatoes, and decorative scallop edged carrots and cucumbers. Mmmm very Thai indeed. My 5 year old said why doesnt this taste like anything mummy. Yep. And then there were our two dishes, both "Kenny Specials" and both with the same gluggy garlic pepper style sauce. Having now looked at a few photos of his food it appears that most is served with this " special sauce". Very heavy and not light like good Thai is. The food is not cheap at $24 for a main and we waited 45mins for our meals. 2 hours later and I'm still tasting it, oh. Staff were quite nice though.

Hi And1moremakes4,
Thank you for your constructive comments. Of course we do have to expect to receive some negatives now and then, and this is obviously a wake-up call to improve on some aspects. We are sorry you had an unpleasant experience, but glad to hear that our service was of good quality and that you were seated next to some friendly people. Thank you.

We have been here a couple times now and the food is great. Very tasty and fresh and prompt to come out. I think it is a shame that you have to order and pay at the register as I feel the prices reflect restaurant prices where full table service is provided, I also think that potential sales are lost this way.
Staff are mostly friendly, but on our last visit it seemed like a big deal to get plates for all of us including the kids, to share the Thai meals.

Hi Sspunky,
We really appreciate your review. We're happy that you note that Kenny's food is always fresh (it's home-made as well), plus we're proud of the fact that he can deliver promptly. As Kenny's Thai Kitchen is still in its infancy, we are looking at all factors such as possible table service, costs, overheads etc... so please bear with us as we strive to improve our service and keep costs to a minimum. Apologies if staff seemed less than interested in supplying extra plates - this will be addressed. Hope to see you back at Kenny's soon. Thank you.

Having been a regular visitor for the last 40+ years we had witnessed a gradual decline in the value and quality of food offerings from the major clubs servicing the twin towns of Forster Tuncurry which once had you queuing for hours just to get a seat. We had a welcome surprise to find that Kenny's had opened in the Forster Club (former RSL and Memorial Club). Kenny had built a following from his time at the local Golf club so it was a delight to have the opportunity to sample his cuisine again and we were overwhelmed and so grateful that finally there was a venue that had the promise of delivering Quality Food at a value price ( a particular consideration now that my wife and I are pensioners). Having just opened the procedures at reception were a little out of sorts but a short wait to be seated at our reserved table (strongly recommend reservations for weekends) was offset by the warm welcoming staff and subtle table décor including fresh flowers. The ordering process was a bit cumbersome, you selected your meal and then had to order and pay at a single cashier point which on this busy Sat night meant a wait, it would be horrible if it was really flat strapped but now doubt the popularity of the kitchen will see this issue address as a priority. By time I had returned to the table with accompanying drinks from the nearby bar, the delectable entrée of prawn and crap spring rolls and sweet chill dipping sauce had already arrived mmm mmmmmmm they were yummy. My sister was our guest so we had ordered 3 main courses one each of our favourites but the intention was to share. First to the table was the combination Pad Thai (not on the menu but the combined ingredients were each available as individual dishes). This dish was voted the best of the 3 but it was close the Angel Prawns were my favourite and the Beef Mussamun Curry could have just as easily had topped the ranking. Overall the food was everything you could have hoped for, the service was impeccable and definitely good value when compared to the inferior quality of the food and service offered by other establishments such as Sail Away restaurant at The Tuncurry Bowling Club. Kenny's Kitchen is legendary Thai it at least once you'll definitely go back and even if only a visitor to the area take the TIP (join the club for $12, you get 10% off your bill at Kenny's which if like us pays for itself in just one visit) Total bill for a 3 piecesEntrée, 3 mains and accompaniments $88.

Dear oz48downunder,
We sincerely appreciate your kind words and constructive comments. You are exactly right with your suggestion to join the club first whereby Members receive 10% discount on both food and beverage purchases. This certainly does represent great value. Thanks again and look forward to your return.
