We've been here twice this week. The first time as a walk-up, the second as a booking.
Entrees were salt and pepper squid (great dipping sauce) and the duck spring roll (another winner).
Mains were the reef fish and chips (awesome chips, but the fish was a little tasteless and pretty heavily battered) and the baked alantic salmon (a little overdone for my wife's liking, and too much tomato/not enough capsicum flavour in the coulis).
My daughter had the kids scotch fillet ... was good enough that she couldnt manage to fit in all the chips that came with it!!
They make a mean Cosmopolitan here. The Iron Bark rose was good (probably a little over priced), but I wouldnt mind seeing a few more rose's on the wine list, particularly for the warmer months.
Second visit (closer the windows and lake views this time).
Entrees were vodka salmon gravalax (amazed my wife could rave about it so much and eat it at the same time) and the king prawn hot pot (i couldnt get enough of the garlic cream and turkish bread after demolishing the prawns).
Mains were crispy skin ocean trout on the specials board (wife's verdict suggests the trout had it in spades over the atlantic salmon from a few nights earlier). I shared her opinion for the chicken breast I had ... while not my preferred part of the bird, the garlic mash and balsamic jus were perfectly matched.
Overall, a great venue with awesome views, quick service - perfect for those wanting that little bit more from a dining experience in Forster (and don't mind splashing out a few extra $$$ for it).
