Smugglers Cove Holiday Village

This is a great family holiday destination, the kids activities and facilities are fantastic. Managers and staff were all lovely. The accommodation itself is average (I stayed in a Buccaneer 6). I'm not usually a complainer but for the purpose of honest feedback, the beds were very uncomfortable and we could not access the free wifi from our cabin location within the park. We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend. I would happily stay again in a different accommodation type but I probably will try somewhere else next time for a more comfortable bed. Thanks for a great weekend.

This park was much more than we expected!
We have 4 kids and the park reaches out to all ages, we went in the school holidays and the activities were amazing, there was something on every 3 hours!
The managers are so friendly and get involved in the activities and games too.
The park layout is great too, we definitely booked for next Easter - our kids are still talking about the pirate park

My friends and I (4 adults, a small dog) spent 3 nights. We weren't happy cabin very small, had no blankets or pillows for spare room. Had to pay more for a dog who took no space & got smaller cabin, the bathroom facilities were shocking.

Room Tip: Do you research regarding bring your pet and room size for amount of people staying.

I took the family to smugglers cove in April 2014 the first holiday we have ever been on.
There was lots of activities for the kids to do and the staff were really nice and helpful.
By the end of the time there none of us wanted to leave.
Well worth going for a holiday with the family.
I want to thank shazz and the staff for a fantastic stay and look forward to going back again.

Quite average accommodation, however you're not there to stay in your cabin all day so in terms of having somewhere to sleep and wash the kids it's good enough.
plenty of activities for the kids and lot' of other friendly families around the park too.

Room Tip: rooms near the entrance are the best as you are closest when coming and going.

We just got back from a 4 day stay at Smugglers Cove & had a great stay.

As we entered the camp ground, we had a few reservations as we were greeted with a rather faded and tired sign, tired looking paintwork on their front wall and a log wall that had seen better days. That's where that bit ended....

Check in was easy and quick and as we passed through the boom gate, things got alot better. We passed by some really nice, modern and fresh cabins, then some old caravans that had been done up and converted to nice cabins. The camping area where we stayed was really nice, shady and green buffalo grass. The camp sites in this area were very generous. Our site was near the water, but far enough away to not be swarmed by the mosquitoes (although we still needed the mosquito repellant). The park hires out fishing gear and paddle skis if you want to go fishing or for a paddle in Walls Lake and forgot to bring your own.

Smugglers Cove also had beautiful looking luxury cabins, as well as poolside cabins. They have 2 swimming pools (one of them being a large lagoon style pool) and a large play area. The grounds are well maintained and they have a program of activities for the kids - jumping castle, crafts, entertainers, movie nights, sports games...... so the kids won't get bored. The roads through the park are safe for the kids to play & ride their bikes around.

The toilets and showers are cleaned 3 times a day, so the only problems I had here were certain people not bothering to flush the toilets. (not really an issue). The group of workers I noticed worked through the day to ensure that the park is kept clean & tidy.

There are areas where the park can improve when they get the budget, such as improving the playgrounds & making the entrance more modern and fresh.

The park is about 5 minutes drive from Forster town centre and just around the corner from the Stocklands shopping centre. There is a bowls club about 3 mins drive towards Forster on the right, which doeas a great buffet at reasonable prices, follow which road a couple more minutes and you get to One Mile Beach, a surf beach.

My evaluation of this park is that it's a great place to be, especially for families and I would strongly recommend staying here as an alternative to the Big 4 parks in the area. I would recommend this park for all people.

Room Tip: For the unpowered campsites, I'd recommend sites 6, 7, 8, 9

Have just spent the week at Smugglers Cove 9th-16th Jan - Sorry we didn't originally book the two weeks offered to us.
Myself, husband and two daughters almost 4 & 1.5yrs old booked an ensuite site (en2) with our tent and all the comfortable trimmings away from home. There are not a lot of trees to block out the sun so make sure you have a tarp if deciding to use your tent. They have plenty of powered tent sites down the back of the village if shade & using amenities is more your thing. Being on the ensuite (glamping) has pros & cons...

Pros - close to all areas
3 pools - 1 kiddies (quite warm), 1 adults & 1 large multi pool
Recreation area for playing cricket or soccer ( across road from ensuite sites great for watching your kids whilst you relax))
restaurant & small pink/purple van selling popcorn, fairy floss & snow cones
bbq & picnic tables (cleaned every morning)
office with small shop - all within short walking distance.

Cons - your right on the road with cars going past quite often, kids riding bikes & scooters, and have to say the tractor going past quite often around 2pm collecting rubbish isn't the greatest but we wanted the ensuite site and definitely booking for next year.

School holiday periods come with many activities - jumping castle, plaster painting, kite making, soccer games, sand art, learn to swim, water sports, disco, karaoke, movie nights just to name a few. Park playground with swings & see saw, put put golf, kanoe hire. Plenty for all ages.

Didn't eat a peg legs restaurant but looked ok for a lunch or dinner meal if you don't want to cook.
Codes are needed for amenities and entrance in & out of village so not just anybody can come in with their car.
Laundry equipped with washing machines, dryers, sinks & irons & boards.
Outdoor kitchens with fridge, microwave, kettle, toaster, sink for washing up scattered over park.

5 minute walk to stocklands shopping village, coles, woolworths, aldi, bws, kmart, best n less etc more than enough for groceries & if you forgot something at home.

great beaches within minutes, boat hire etc.
we as a family of four really enjoyed our stay at smugglers cove, all fellow holiday makers were very friendly, met some new friends & both sharon and murray are great park managers.
