Stayed recently in one of the family ensuite rooms, had rung ahead and asked for a quiet room as we were staying on a Fri/Sat night..the person I spoke was very understanding and we spoke about the rooms etc. The room we had 22 was on the second floor so that helped immediately with any noise worries. I must admit Friday night some noise from a function could be heard but the kids were asleep and it didn't worry them and by midnight there was total silence! I was worried about Sat night but even quieter. the room was basic in one sense and nice in another..like there was not where to put things..only 3 hooks in the main room and the bathroom which was large had 1 towel rack which was annoying! Mind the bath towel were huge, one thing that can be lacking at a more budget establishment, the bathroom had been re done and was good (they could have sprung for a new vanity) the room was good also new beds, spreads ..the bed was comfortable and the room warm.
Would stay again for sure.

Stayed here overnight while travelling through NSW, very congenial pub, nice food at reasonable prices. Staff very friendly and plenty of locals having a quiet ale who were happy to have a chat. Staff happy to go out of their way including arranging TVs to show both AFL and League to suit the patrons.
Room clean and tidy and would be happy to stay again.
Pub well located near centre of town and convenient to most facilities.

Stayed in the pub accommodation of this charming art deco hotel. A simple clean room with two single beds. They must have had some problems with stuff disappearing as everything was screwed down. The bar areas are clean and the service friendly. The restaurant was fully booked for the evening but was able to order the same menu via the bistro. Food was very nice, ample portions, well cooked and good value. Location is in the main street, a short walk to the main shops. Overall a nice stay.

Traveled with my teenage daughter and stayed at the Alpine Hotel as stopover from long drive so we could make an early start to the snow in the morning. Location was good, about 1hour from Bullocks Flat Snow Tube station. Hotel is easy to find in main street location, went for a walk and found a couple of restaurants along the street and a coles shopping centre a couple doors up. The Hotel itself was charming, with good atmosphere, busy Saturday night with restaurant and band playing, felt safe enough and did not hear too much noise from our room– we were a sleep by 11pm.
Food ok in the restaurant but a little overpriced for hotel meals – I think it takes advantage of the tourist patronage. Booked a budget room with access to bathroom facilities in the hall, which was ok - bathroom clean enough. The bedroom was super tiny window did not open, and it looked out over roof tops, bed was a bit hard. Had to climb a flight of stairs with luggage to get to the room. Parking at the front of the hotel in main street , but car survived the night.
You get what you pay for, this was budget room, and we just wanted to make an early start in the morning, so it suited our purposes. Would recommend if you don’t mind budget, like the pub atmosphere and just need a stopover. I might look a bit harder to see what else is available next time but did not want to waste too much money – booked the double budget room for $120 and would book again and hope for a softer bed!!

Late into town after dark, and there were rooms. Shared facilities only rooms on short notice, but rooms were quiet and the bathrooms clean. There was a rugby function downstairs and was busy , so maybe being on the second floor was better. We were on bikes and they locked them up for us which was good.

The Alpine is a beautiful hotel from the art-deco era. We stayed two nights in a twin room in July 2012, heading to the snow each day for skiing. The room was clean and well maintained. The shared bathroom reminded me of college days - the terrazzo is probably original - but again, well maintained and hot water was plentiful (can't ask for much better than that, at least not for a hundred bucks a night). If you stay on the weekend, be prepared for a bit of noise from the bar downstairs as it's quite popular, but the license only goes to midnight so you won't be kept up all night. As for food, the restaurant seemed a bit overwhelmed when we were there, and it wasn't busy. Food was good once it came though, reasonably priced, and the wine list is excellent.

All in all we were thoroughly charmed by Cooma and this hotel, though it's certainly not for everyone. You can probably have a more comfortable and private stay in one of the ensuite rooms - perhaps we'll do that next time!

We were recommended to eat here by the manager of the Cooma motel we stayed at recently. However, if this is the best pub in Cooma for food, I'd hate to think what the others are like.

The restaurant page on the Alpine Hotel's website says "Our high-end chef (formerly from one of Thredbo's most renowned resorts) produces scrumptous meals that will satisfy even the fussiest palate". We saw no sign of anything "scrumptious" on the menu which was pretty basic to say the least and quite small for a pub.

My husband ordered a T-bone which I suppose is the safest thing to order in a pub and I wish I'd followed suit because he said it was fine. I was going to order the vegetarian lasagna but the ingredients sounded a bit weird (marscapone cheese in a lasagna??) so I decided to play safe and ordered the chicken parma as I was pretty hungry and pubs are well known for their generous size parmagianas.

This one was a decent size, at least widthways, but the piece of chicken it was made from had been beaten to within an inch of its life and was wafer thin. It just generally lacked flavour too and the plastic cheese on top did nothing to enhance it.

The waitress was a little serious when we first arrived but she warmed up when we started talking to her and her service was fine. She even offered to move us to another table away from the door when she saw me put my coat around my shoulders. That earned her extra brownie points and was much appreciated as there was an arctic draft whistling through the not-quite-closed door. A fine pinot noir was the highlight of the evening, not the food.
