Stayed in ocean view suit which was really more car park view with beach/ocean over to left. Overal a pretty good place to stay.

We have the ocean view room (which we didn't really expect). After reading reviews, I was worried for the noise and enquired the hotel about that as I have the exam to attend the next day. They advised us that not all rooms are noisy and they made sure that the room we were in was away from the pub area and the noise.

We have stayed in this hotel many times now. Particulary before and after travelling overseas. Coogee is relatively close to the airport, so taxi fare is not too bad. Lots of resturants and cafes and places to drink. Its ideal for before and after intenational travel, but we have also stayed here a few days when we visited Sydney. We used to live in Coogee so its like being back home. The rooms are always clean and tidy, little kitchenette gives you options dto do soemof your own catering.. We have stayed in a one bedroom apartment, deluxe studios and courtyeard studios- they have all been OK. only one time did we Have a room with a sliding door on the bathroom, not so great. But we had just come non stop from Hawaii and it was late so we crashed anyway- other wise we woudl have asked for another room. Prices are reasonable, red hot deals give you even cheaper prices. Staffa are always helpfull and friendly. I am starting to use this as a base for business travel too, as I am over staying in Sydney City- its so much nicer to be able to take a walk along the foreshore.

Jan 1st, 2009, Montreal, Canada

we stayed at this hotel for 3 days after arriving from a 15 hour flight from Canada.

The hotel is in a perfect location right on the beach . The room was very clean and comfortable. We stayed towards the back so it was very quiet. The staff were very friendly and helpful. There are a lot restaurants in the area which also offer take out. We did this a couple of times and sat out on roof deck with our wine.
The room comes complete with kitchenette and microwave and dishes and cutlery..

Right next to this hotel is the walkway to Bondi Beach. There is also buses right in front of the hotel.

We would certainly go back for the location and price. We even prefer this location to Manly beach. This is a perfect place to relax and unwind before visiting the city or taking a cruise.

The staff were great--helpful with every query. The position is fantastic-just a step away from the beautiful Coogee beach.
We had a garden room which meant an outside area with a wall and a few plants but only a view of a wall!! This did not matter. The room was small but comfortable and had everything we needed. The bathroom was tired but clean .We would definitely stay there again.

  • Liked — The position and the staff
  • Disliked — The bathroom. The toilet was at nose length from the bed!!

I stayed in this place which has a lovely location right at the end of Coogee Beach, and also has a roof terrace from which you can admire the view over the beach and Coogee, or even have a takeaway meal up there and admire the sunset. Everything was great except for the fact that the studios are tiny, one on top of the other down a long corridor, and some have interconnecting doors so that you can hear every word from next door. I was awoken early the first morning by the alarm of the person next door and had to listen to all his morning routine. It was more like sharing a room. They're a little overpriced for what you're getting - the courtyard studios do have little private courtyards, but they're really tiny and mostly with taller buildings overlooking them so not even private. I would presume the ocean view studios were nicer but I didn't see these as they were full.
I'd say the best things going for this place are its location and the roof terrace, and that if you book, make sure to get an ocean view studio or apartment and not any of the others.

  • Liked — The location was superb as its right on beach but not noisy
  • Disliked — Too cramped and rooms too close together, plus some have inter-connecting doors

This property says it's right on the beach at Coogee, and it is. There is a footpath and grassy park between your balcony and the sand. Ask for a balcony room with the beach view - sit out with a drink and watch the passing parade and the pacific. Our room was very nice, and had a handy little kitchenette with sink and microwave, crockery etc. Very clean and tasteful, your average sort of hotel room. My husband found the bed too soft, and there was quite a bit of noise from the pub next door, even late on a Sunday night. Quieter though on the Monday night.
Parking is undercover and secure, and easy to find right at the end of Dolphin Street. Bus into the city takes about half an hour, and the stop is a 2 minute walk. No shopping to speak of in Coogee itself, but lots of great eating choices, and a good fish and chip shop right in the middle of the park on the beach. You can walk to Bondi Beach along the beaches and cliffs in about 2 hours, on a very good path. Coogee has 3 separate sea-pools/baths, and one is for ladies only.
I loved this property, and would like to stay for a week with my teenagers, as Coogee has a real beachy-casual thongs and bathers feel, while the city is only a bus away.

  • Liked — Proximity to the beach, and balcony view
  • Disliked — Noisy pub next door - double glazing would fix this
