Staying a few nights here and am really happy with my choice. The rooms are modern which makes any guest feel like they are staying in a well managed place. It is clean, excellent management (which seems to be a good selling point for this place). Great facilities with cheap and fast internet.
My only suggestion would be to have a 4 port extension for us business guys near the table to that we can plug our laptops/gear in easily.

Thanks Cessnock Motel.

Highway 82 being just a sidewalk width away and heavy trucks rumbling by day and night, traffic noise could be an issue for some. The Cessnock motel is 30 plus years old, but has been completely redone inside and out. The current owners Celeste and Bernd take pride in maintaining it in spotless condition. All rooms are at ground level. The CBD is but one short block away. Free Parking, albeit a little tight, is available on-site.

Requesting a quiet room, Celeste assigned us spa room #6 in the very rear, somewhat though not completely shielded from road noise. The room with a comfortable queen bed, a table with two hard chairs, wardrobe, flat screen TV, wall mounted A/C, kitchenette and fridge was spotless, everything rather new looking. The small window looked onto the back of another building a few feet away. The amply sized bathroom had a spa tub, a fully enclosed walk-in shower, vanity with sink, very fluffy quality towels, all again looking rather new and spotlessly clean.

Celeste could not have been more helpful, patiently dispensing information. On her recommendation we visited BYO Al-oi Thai Restaurant at 17 Vincent Street, a block away and enjoyed a good meal. Celeste sells bottled wine, saving us the trip to the liquor store. In summary, the Cessnock Motel is a spotless little roadside motel, unfortunately on a very busy road.

Celeste and her husband are charming managers of this sparkling clean, modern property in the Hunter Valley. No need spend fortune, save your money for a special meal like at Leaves and Fishes (recommended and booked by Celeste). She can also advise best wineries to visit ( she was right; we went to one not on her list and left w/o tasting due to rudeness of staff).

You may want a smaller room in the back if truck noise from the roadwould disturb you( it didn't bother me).

Lively stay with unexpected bonus advice and care. Thank you Celeste.

We stayed at the Cessnock Motel with two other couples while attending CMC Rocks the Hunter. Rooms are basic but OK for a short stay, and granted that we were only there to sleep really. If you are able make sure you get a room as far away from the road as possible because it is right on the main road going into Cessnock and it is very noisy (we had the front room so I know). Don't plan on farting too loudly if you come back to the Motel after dark or the resident fun police will be onto you. We went to have a quick drink after we returned from CMCRTH and were making very little noise and the manager rang my room and told us that she was trying to go to sleep and we were keeping her awake!!! All I can say is she must be a light sleeper. I'll chalk this stay up to experience because I won't be rushing back any time soon (ever.......)

Room Tip: As far away from the road as possible.

Our family was there December 2011. The room is not lavishly big but able to accommodate 4 single beds. ALOFT Hot Air Balloon also pick up from here and makes it very easy. Their laundry service is very reasonable and makes it sweet is the lady boss even helped to hang dry some of our clothings, while we are driving around the wineries, chocolate factories, etc. If you need toaster or microwave, you will have it in your room without cost. Very family-oriented. My girls like the heated pool though is not very warm due to strong wind. If you drive, must try the nearby (1 or 2 street away) a super nice and big portion of Fish n Chip. We enjoyed our outdoor dinner by the pool. Cessnock is a nice place to stay and visit.

This is a wonderful motel when passing through, as we were, on our way to the Hunter Valley. Found this place by accident and so glad we did. The motel was spotless, owners were friendly, helpful and eager to please. We could park right outside our room which is great when carrying in suitcases. The bed was clean and comfy and the towels soft and thick. If passing by and in need of somewhere reasonable to stay this is the motel for you.You wont be dissapointed.

Quaint little Motel on the doorstep to Hunter Valley wining and dining... Across the road from McDonalds, KFC, Oporto Chicken, 5min from main street, public transport at your door, close to local club's and pubs!

Our room was nicely furnished, modern furniture, although I still cannot work out why some Motel owners still insist on older small or bulky televison set's, crikey you can get a 42inch LCD Flat Screen TV for under $400.00 .AUD. However, our room was extremely clean and the bathroom was also new, well equipped and immaculate.

The bed was was fine and comfortable. And the curtains did an ok job to block any intruding light's from outside. Can get a little noisy at night with front to unit style parking, but for the price and just to be entertained by magical host's, Celeste and Bernd is worth it.

Summary: If you want to save money, great little place to bed down for the night!!!

Thanks Celste and Bernd

Room Tip: Closest to Celeste and Bernd Unit :)
