We stayed one night but we've booked for two since we're not allowed to book for a single night in advance. We've booked a camper site three month in advance and got a terrible tent site when we arrived, no water and next to a large, crowdy group. Instead of giving us a nice and desent place that pay over three month in advance, we we're dropped on a site that was not even a real site. We moved to another spot (after visiting the reception four times) since we insisted for a powered site with at least a connection to water. It was an expensive stay, dirty amenities (not worth the money) and too many people on the campground. Sorry, they have to do better than this to give people a nice stay, that's worth this money.

We stayed 2 nights in Dec 13 while travelling north. The powered ensuite site was good, apart from the large jump up onto concrete slabs (10cm). Ensuite older, but very clean and functional. We stayed a further night on our way back south in January 14 on "drive-through" powered site. You still have to unhitch the car as site is not long enough (25 foot van fits easily), but you don't have to back in. Used main facilities which are very good. Blue Thai restaurant very good and convenient. Close to town, but too far to walk with shopping. Proximity to wineries very good.

We stayed at this Park from the 30 December 2013 through to 2nd January 2014. Park has made a lot of upgrades and looks great. Ease of access to all Vine yards and Wine tour buses will collect from the entrance of the Park. Thai Restaurant on Site and great pools plus spa and good facilities.

We recently stayed for 8 nights on powered sites towards the rear of the park. It was quiet and a good position with some vines behind us and an empty paddock over the fence. There was little grass and a lot of dirt to contend. A short walk to two different amenities both quite clean and acceptable.
The biggest surprise of all was the complete lack of tourist information provided to us on arrival. Considering this is a tourist destination and we were staying for over a week to explore the region, the welcome and material at reception was non existent. When I queried the lack of even a map to identify where the Big 4 discount offers were situated, I was told that they had nothing and I should go to the Visitor Info Centre about 6kms away. The park, it seems, is too lousy to pay the fee to get quantities of maps and brochures to distribute themselves. The VIC is well worth the visit and gave us some great tips. We stayed at a Top Tourist Park in Stanthorpe overnight on our return to Queensland and the welcome bag they gave us with park info, local info, rubbish bag and more was exceptional and opposite to our experience with the Big 4 Valley Vineyard.
Loved the Hunter Valley and the park is well located to wineries of the Pokolbin area, supermarkets and businesses in Cessnock, day trips and short drives to places of interest. We were certainly not disappointed with our time in the Valley.
There are lots of accom options at the Big 4. Look carefully at what you are booking as it varies from very old to very new. Best powered sites are at the rear of the park where there is no road noise but the downside is a longer walk to the camp kitchen and recreation facilities. Still, it's worth it for the ambience.

Room Tip: Our favourite winery in the Hunter Valley was Audrey Wilkinson on Debeyers Road about 10 minutes fro...

We stayed 3nights 29th-31st Dec as a lead to watch the Hunter Garden light spectacular. Camp site clean but was too close to main road you can hear the cars so at times we didn't feel like we were away on holiday. I really like the keypad entry to toilets as compared to using keys. I didn't need to worry about losing keys & everyone can go at anytime. Pool clean.

NEED SHADES FOR JUMPING PILLOWS

Lastly, not sure why the bbq was to be coin operated when it's part of the main kitchen.

on arrival on boxing day found no staff working in the park was met by a couple of permanent residents who were trying to do their best to assist arriving campers in allocating spots .No tourist information available to help, pool and toilets were clean .Noise from road was excessive all night . After staying for a week we left .Would only recommend as a last resort or an overnight stay only .On leaving we were told the park had been sold still not an excuse for not caring about paying customers.P.S i wish the new owners the best of luck to bring the park up to an acceptable level and still stay pet friendly .

Room Tip: Dont stay here unless you are passing thru

My extended family and I, adults and children, stayed in a poolside cabin/vila. Spotlessly clean, great kitchen, massive fridge, only meters to the pool (almost directly at our door). The children were occupied and right under our noses and easy to supervise. The pool is perfect for the adults too! Cheap cheap for what is provided. I will most certainly stay here again on my next trip to the Hunter Valley. I loved t and cannot identify a single negative aspect. Thankyou
