Booked this last minute as our intended hotel cancelled a couple of days before we were due to stay. Solberge Hall Hotel was recommended to me by a friend and I am glad she did, what an absolute jem! We did a 2 night spring break and paid just £10 a night extra to upgrade the room, it was stunning cant fault it. Included was bed breakfast and dinner, the food was lovely and the service great - the staff are lovely. We are definitely coming back - well done Solberge, keep up the good work.

This is a wonderful hotel, set in a rural backdrop, with fantastic period rooms. Absolutely worth a return visit!

Stayed for three nights two on a travel zoo offer. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Solberge Hall. Evening three course meal was very good. Cooked to order yorkshire breakfast also very good.
We had a large rooom with a good view. The only prob was the electric shower not very powerful.
All the staff were excellent.
Had two great days out visiting Whitby, the moors and dales.
Would defo return for another short break.

Room Tip: Rooms at the front excellent views

Had a gorgeous afternoon tea with champagne. Sandwiches, scone with cream and jam and tiny cakes - delightful and a large and very hot pot of tea. Excellent service from friendly but professional staff. Would be a gorgeous wedding venue - views and grounds are splendid.

After a wonderful afternoon tea from the groupon dea a month agol we decided to return again but the second time was such a let down. Service was very slow, we had to ask them for our tea and coffee, also had to ask for the champagne, staff seemed so disorganised compared to the first time we attended (only a month or so ago) after the poor service we were given a bill which was incorrect. Sadly would not return here

We had our wedding reception at Solberge Hall in August 2011 and we couldn’t have wished for a better wedding and level of service.
We had attended a friend’s wedding at the hotel the year before we got married and had been so impressed by it that when we got engaged we immediately decided to hold our reception at Solberge Hall.
Throughout our planning process Tracy Elliott was absolutely fantastic; she kept in close contact with us and always responded to us very quickly. Nothing was too much trouble for her and she accommodated our every request. Tracy was highly organised and remembered every little detail, we really felt that she was passionate about wedding planning and wanted our day to be very special.
We were also very impressed by Mark the chef. He wanted to meet us both and discussed our menu choices with us in detail. We were invited for a taster (which is free for the bride and groom) where Mark sat with us before the meal and again went through our choices, both making his own suggestions and considering ours. After the meal he sat with us to discuss our opinions of the different dishes. We talked at length, not only about the wedding breakfast but also about the evening food, for which we wanted food that was not on their menu but he happily agreed to.
We were struck by how accommodating the staff were as they allowed us a lot of freedom to run our day as we wanted, always advising us on the pros and cons of doing so.
On the day of the wedding we truly felt we were in safe hands with Martin; he was excellent at being in charge and we were reassured by his presence. He dealt with situations swiftly and professionally and a number of guests commented on this.
We had an amazing wedding day; everything was perfect – the food, the staff, the location, the accommodation – we couldn’t rate it any higher.
A huge thank you to all the staff at Solberge Hall but particularly Mark, Martin and of course Tracy, without whom our wedding would not have been so wonderful.
