“A very relaxing stay.”
Reviewed December 11, 2010

This hotel was awesome. I stayed here with my partner for seven nights. We were on the Eco rate but this definitly didn't mean we were given a worn down, loud room with no views. The room was very clean and spacious, it had everything including a fully self contained kitchen, dining table, lounge, balcony and tv in the bedroom. The room was extremely clean and had lovely views of the water and mountain. I must admit with a comment made earlier that it didn't scream 5 star. It might be because there was no gym or tennis courts, or maybe because it was on a massive hill which made it very hard to get to but it just didn't feel 5 star. The hill does let this place down a bit but without it you wouldn't get the awesome views. Even as a young couple we struggled to walk up the hill but they do provide shuttles so I would recommend if you are of the older generation or have kids to plan your day around the shuttle service! The last thing I would recommend is the restaurant. The food was devine, a bit of the pricy side but delicious and well worth it. I would not hesitate to recommend this place to others :)

My partner and i stayed at this beautiful resort in July.. We are locals, and i have worked in a number of hotels and resorts around the Whitsundays. We spent a day beforehand visiting all of the other hotels in Airlie, getting prices, seeing rooms, etc, and i can tell you all that this, Peppers Coral Coast, was the best BY FAR. We received a discounted rate for being locals (which only one other place offered), offered a tour of the room (which we accepted, and the lady who took us upstairs was absolutely lovely).
Once we arrived, we were given fabulous service, and our room was the very one we were shown previously. The rooms are beautiful, huge spa, beautiful furnishings, and sensational views!!! I cant say enough good things about this place. We had lovely weather, and made full use of the stunning pool. We dined at the restaurant, and our food was delicious!
We reccomend this place to everyone, and will definetly be back!!! Thank you Peppers for making our stay memorable, and thank you to the staff, you were all wonderful!!!

Stayed in Peppers for one night with partner during November and wished we could have stayed longer.

We had a one bedroom apartment with kitchen, living room (with v comfy couch), balcony (with great views), separate bedroom and a fantastic bathroom.

Bathroom had the largest spa I've come across in a hotel as well as bathrobes etc.

Room also had ipod docking stations in both living area and bedroom.

Only downside would be the door entrance to the kitchen which is fine but not up to excellent standard of the rest of the apartment. Also location wise it is a little further from Airlie itself so a car is a must really.

We hadn't booked anything at Airlie Beach and so visited the information centre on the main road to pick up some brochures. The lady in there was really helpful and rang around a few places for prices/availability. My wife had already picked up the Peppers leaflet but I thought it would probably break our budget. However, the lady gave it a try and got us a really great deal.
Peppers itself is on a steep hill at the far end of the resort. We checked in and they showed us to a room. My wife felt that the view was obstructed slightly by the roof of the building in front. We asked if we could move to that building and the hotel were really great about it and showed us the second room before we made our decision. the second room was lovely so we moved in.
The rooms themselves are just beautiful, very modern, clean and bright. lovely comfy bed, big spa bath (which takes an age to fill but is worth the effort!) clean, very well equipped kitchen and a lovely little balcony that overlooked a bay and the ocean. (unfortunately they were building a hotel opposite so it was a bit noisy and it marred the view a bit, but it wasn't too bad and once it is finished it will be fine!)
The pool was nice (although a bit cold!) and the sun goes off it at around 2pm, but that wasn't an issue for us, the pool area is also very small for a hotel of that size, so not sure how it would be when the hotel was busy, although the hotel is close to the beach.
The food in the restaurant was sensational!
Due to the steep hill, they have a little golf cart, so if you cannot face the walk back up form the entrance, you can ring reception and they will come down in the little buggy and pick you up.
This hotel has all the little 5* luxuries you would wish for, and we were aboslutely delighted to find such a little gem at such an amazing price. Would highly recommend.

Just returned from a very enjoyable few days with Peppers and, on the whole, everything was really lovely! From pleasant views across the Whitsunday Passage, large clean and modern apartments with a ridiculously large bath (!), lovely restaurant, accommodating staff, funky pool and spa (didn’t use the spa but looked good!), Peppers really did tick all the ‘good hotel’ boxes. The weather was not great and, to be fair, could well be unfairly souring my view but, there are a few areas where I feel they could become a tad sharper.

Firstly, the infinity pool is lovely but just so small! Admittedly you do not go to Airlie Beach / Whitsundays to sit around the pool all day but if a 25% of hotel guests did decide to do so, it would be chaos! Also, it is an infinity pool but it ‘melts’ into the roofs of the apartments on the lower level which ruins the effect somewhat. Having said this though, it is extremely attractive at night with changing color lighting giving a dramatic effect.

Secondly, it can get a little dark at night when returning to the rooms. Stairwells were not adequately lit in my opinion and verge on dangerous. The stairwells / corridors etc just seemed very ‘grey’ as well; not that there is anything particularly wrong with this, it just didn’t scream 5* luxury.

Thirdly, and something which has been heavily commented upon, the hill is EXTREME! It is really easy to get into town but I wouldn’t recommend the walk back. Reception are accommodating to the fact that if you phone when at the bottom of the hill, they will send a golf cart to fetch you but this is not available at all times (if they are busy). Officially, there is a courtesy bus to/from town every 2 hours which I feel could be more frequent. I caught a cab from town to the hotel (literally 2-3mins worth) and was charged $8 or $9 for the privilege.

The negative points above are mere gripes. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely reconsider staying at this Peppers. The staff were lovely, rooms spacious and modern is a welcome break from the hecticness of Airlie Beach itself. Somehow though, there was that lack of ‘wow factor’ for me hence why not the 5* review.

My husband and I stayed here recently for 2 nights in a one-bedroom apartment. We found the whole experience to be professional, relaxing and pleasant. The view was nice and the apartment was huge. The spa in the ensuite fits 2 people. The kitchen had everything we needed and it was nice to cook breakfast and sit on our balcony. The restaurant in the complex is called "Tides" and although expensive as you would expect with a 4 -5 star hotel, I believe it was worth the money. The service was much better than some of the cheaper restaurants in town. We were made to feel special which was nice. We swam in the spa in the pool which seemed a bit warmer than the bigger pool and it was very relaxing. We felt lucky that we had our own car is it wouldn't really be suitable if you had to walk into town all the time. We would definitely stay at this resort again.

It was with some caution that we arrived at Peppers Coral Coast Resort at Airlie Beach for our honeymoon, having read some bad reviews on this web site. However i am happy to say that these reviews are misguided. The staff were friendly and accommodating, the room spotless with the most fantastic view and the food amazing. Even thou it rained for the four days we were there, it was still most enjoyable. The room is ultra modern with the lastest applicances, the bed very comfy and the bathroom, according to the wife fantastic. Thank you Peppers for making our honeymoon memorable!
