We arrived by train at 4am and were dreading the thought of sitting in the train station until cafes opened and then sitting there until check in. We called ahead and they said they would allow us to check in at 4am! When we arrived, we called the number they gave us and a lovely, albeit very sleepy man came out and checked us in! He had clearly gotten out of bed just to let us in. I'm afraid I don't know his name. I was half asleep and didn't think to ask. But this was really above and beyond what anyone could ask for service.
I fell asleep as soon as I got to the room and it wasn't until I awoke that I took a look around. We had a massive, 2 bedroom apartment with all of the amenities. A lovely large balcony with an amazing view over Airlie Beach and the ocean.
We only stayed the one night, but I think it would be a great place to stay with friends for a longer period having the kitchen and all. There are laundry facilities, two bathrooms, a lovely big bath tub and a massive tv (which took us a bit to figure out, but we got there in the end).
The hotel has a gorgeous pool that was perfect for the sweltering afternoons.
The one drawback of this hotel is that it is up a fairly steep hill. This may be nothing for young, fit people who are used to the heat, but I can say it nearly knocked me out. And since we were staying and planning to buy groceries, we had to walk down to Airlie beach for the restaurants.
But it is being on a hill that give it the amazing views.
Overall, I have nothing but wonderful sentiment for this place for the service alone!
