First time to Airlie beach. The hotel is close to all amenities, short stroll to lagoon, shops, market with neighbouring excellent restaurants. The rooms were clean, comfortable and everything we needed. Reception staff (Hannah and Becky) were extremely friendly and helpful and made our stay even more pleasurable. We recommend the hotel.

Fantastic location but looking and feeling like it needs a facelift. They actually warn you that if you leave the bathroom door open the smoke alarm will go off and you'll pay for the fireman if they attend.

Breakfast was great and to be honest it location, location, location with this place.

Great location for a weekend visit, everything is just a short walk away (and no hills!) lovely sea views, and a stone throw away from the Airlie markets on Saturday morning. The restaurants are very good, especially loved the breakfast, or if you fancy something a bit more low key then there are plenty of other cafes and bakeries close by

I've stayed her a couple times, once in the motel which was great for a cheap one night with a couple girlfriends, and then just recently in the hotel with a view over the beach. It's got perfect location, everything is just a short walk... Although they do ask you to sign a waver before entering the room (about leaving the door closed while showering) how hard is it to do it? Absolutely nothing wrong with my stay, staff were helpful, and myself being a young female they helped me know what places are good to on Thursdays. Will be back!!

Why would you stay anywhere else? You have a great location, staff are reasonably friendly, rooms are clean. Only odd thing is I stayed in the motel which is lovely if your not after a view but be careful if your sharing, the shower is just behind a wall there isn't actually a door! I stayed here with 2 other girls comfortably though. Beds are super comfy. You walk out your door and your right in Airlie so even though they have parking you don't really need to have a car. They are a part of a couple of restaurants right in the vicinity too, which serve good everyday meals. Probably if your here as a family the hotel might be better. If your after a bed for a night or 2 you can't go past these guys and they are very accommodating from 2 encounters I have had.

March 20, 2013 after travelling all day we planned to reach Airlie Beach to overnight on our journey to Cairns. On checking in at the Airlie Beach Hotel around 7:30 pm , the staff person on reception informed us to keep the door closed when showering. She said that the smoke alarms accidentally go off from the steam when you shower if you leave the bathroom door open . That was OK but I queried why management had not fixed the problem and had the alarms relocated. No answer.... Just a LOOK.
She then asked me sign a form agreeing to pay nearly $1200 if the alarms went off and the fire services responded . I was absolutely shocked and I refused to sign as I believed that the demand was not legal or at all reasonable. She then said if you don't sign then you cant stay here and abruptly tore up the registration paperwork and threw it into the waste bin.
My wife and I are in our 60,s and have never been treated like that in our lives. We went off to find alternative accommodation for the night.
