We stayed at the Boathouse in August and I had been telling my Partner about the Beer Cafe down stairs... We went their for a few drinks the first afternoon. That then turned in to dinner, then every other day we went back!
The Tapas was GREAT! We were a little put off by the prices, but it was o yum and we were on holidays, we didn't care!
Their knowledge of Beer is amazing! My partner's whole family are into different beers and it was the best place for us to relax and he could try all different beers not often available.
We were so happy with their service and chats we got to have with all the staff as we were there everyday!
We often say ""oh I wish there was a Denman's here" because we enjoyed it so much!

“Great overall experience!”
Reviewed December 16, 2013 via mobile

After arriving at Airlie we had 2 recommendations within the first 2 hours to try this place, and it was well worth it. We tried a few different beers that we really enjoyed, some chosen by us and some with the help of the cheerful & knowledgeable staff.
It's a lovely setting at the new Port of Airlie, very relaxing. We tried a few of the tapas options, including the dips, the pork belly, the prawns, the squid balls, the meatballs and the duck pancakes. The food wasn't faultless, but the overall experience made it good. 9 beers and the tapas for around $120 made it pretty decent value overall. Good work guys!

“Terrific spot for a drink”
Reviewed December 16, 2013

We were staying upstairs in the Outrigger and visited Denmans Cellars four times in the three days we were here. What a terrific place. I love to try different beers and with 700 to choose from the biggest problem is deciding. Every country from Iceland to South Africa is represented and every style imaginable is available. We were able to try beers that we would never otherwise get to taste, so for me, as a beer lover, the place is terrific. We didn't eat here, but the food is tapas style and seemed to perfectly complement the concept of a sea side beer cafe. The meals we saw being delivered were a credit to the tiny kitchen available to the staff. The staff were also just wonderful. The gentleman who appeared to be the duty manager was knowledgeable and accommodating, while the wait staff were, without exception, absolutely friendly and professional. The location is also very pleasant, with a pretty good view over the marina. Seating is limited so I would imagine a booking during peak times would be wise.

If you like trying different beers this is the place for you. My only criticism Is that some of the beers are quite expensive and well above bottle shop prices and that is the only reason I have given a "very good" rating rather than an "excellent". But you probably should expect prices like that in this setting. If you are not a beer drinker, this would probably be no more than a pleasant cafe in a nice location. But beer lovers of the world; this is a "must do" in Airlie Beach.

“Great value- food and drinks perfect place!”
Reviewed December 15, 2013 via mobile

Beer concept is awesome. Staff helpful with choosing types of beer and making you go out the box, unfortunately it felt as if the staff forgot about us at times, but it was forgiven with good food, drinks and quick service. The staff were nice, don't get me wrong!

The food is to die for. RECOMMEND DUCK PANCAKES. Absolutely beautiful dish! The squid needed more flavour, chicken was a little plain but lobster ravioli yum and also partner loved the pork belly.

Would go back for food & drinks. $70 for 2 alcoholic drinks, 1 non alco + 5 tapas (2 seafood 3 meat) so pretty good value!!!
