I stayed at Whitsunday Moorings Bed and Breakfast over Christmas before taking sailing trip. The room was great and the view was amazing. I was lucky enough to enjoy three mornings there and the breakfast was fantastic; very fresh and flavorful. Peter and Glenn were great hosts and made the stay a true treat. They have mango trees at the house and Glenn gave me several mangos fresh from the tree that were so juicy and sweet; I can't eat mangos in the states anymore. This place is a must if you're spending a few days in Airlie Beach.

Whitsunday Moorings is the B & B of your dreams! There are 3 rooms, each with its private terrace where breakfast is served by English owner, Peter. The table is immaculately laid to old-fashioned British standards & always decorated with a flower from the garden. The breakfast is artistically presented & cooked by co-owner, Glenn. The terraces overlook the beautiful garden & the marina & sea beyond. The two larger rooms are very spacious with fridge & microwave. The shower room is well-appointed with attention to detail, & bath robes are provided. There is air-conditioning & an insect screen on the patio doors. There is a beautifully positioned small swimming pool in the garden, & for bird lovers the constant fascination of the lorikeets & others on the sugar-water bird feeder. Perfect!

Room Tip: There are only 3 rooms, all with wonderful views, but the garden room is smaller.

We stayed here for a few days in October, before going off to Brisbane for party time. It was wonderful. Really relaxing. Everything was very well done. We had the end room, and you have your own dining area, and you feel as if your in a bit of paradise. (There is a road below, and you can hear the cars when sitting out side, but you soon forget with the views) The breakfast is great, really enjoyable. The owners are really nice and very helpful with suggestion of restaurants and places to go. Would not hesitate to go back again or recommend. We were going to stay at a hotel, but most of them were apartments with no breakfast, This was a much better option.

A warm welcome from friendly owner Peter was a perfect start. He promptly and enthusiastically showed us to our room which was a delight- clean, fresh and spacious with good air con and well ventilated. Spectacular views overlooking the bay. The breakfast was something else. Fresh fruit, toast and home made jams, smoked salmon, eggs and bacon, cereal and freshly squeezed juice- all portion sizes were large. Faultless.
As ever it's the little touches that make all the difference. A flag of our nationality on the table, nightlights at dusk and Peter was even kind enough to pick us up in the rain after we got lost!
Great value and a great experience. 5 stars.

My husband and I stopped here on our way to Cairns from Brisbane. We had only a week to see this part of Australia (we are Canadians on a brief tour of Australia and New Zealand). This B&B was one of the nicest places we have ever stayed. The lovely large garden room with sitting area and kitchenette was spotlessly clean. The beautifully landscaped gardens overlooking the marina and bay were a delight to sit in. The gourmet breakfast was delicious as well as being pesented artistically. We did not have time to try the inviting pool but enjoyed the multitude of parrots putting on displays for us while we had breakfast. The hospitality was warm and friendly and this B&B is the top of our list.

Thank you for your kind remarks, we enjoyed meeting you although as you say all too short a time here. Another visit perhaps?
Just a point of clarification for readers, these guests stayed in our East Room, we also have a Garden Room which differs from the one described.

I stayed at the Moorings with my partner for 8 nights over New Year, and had just a wonderful time. Peter and Glenn are fabulously welcoming and accommodating hosts, and Glenn cooks some mean scrambled eggs! Our room was immaculate, so clean and tidy, lovely touches with flowers left in the room, and my favourite - a cafetiere and packet of fresh coffee that was replaced throughout our stay. Breakfast was blissful - so gorgeous to come out onto the deck to a spotless white linened table, and a beautiful fruit platter (Peter became quickly accustomed to our requests for extra toast so after a couple of days we didn't even need to ask!). Watching the lorikeets jostle over their water was rather magical. And the hammock was a great place to enjoy a glass of wine of an evening :-) A slight walk up and down the hill to the main stretch, but not an issue and well worth it to be away from the hustle and bustle of Airlie Beach to relax and enjoy the beautiful view of the harbour. I would recommend to anyone and should we return to the Whitsundays, will be sure to go back. Thanks so much.

Room Tip: Having the room right next to the pool made it feel like our own!
