Discovery Parks - Airlie Beach is away from the mainstream Airlie touristy area.
My daughter & I stayed for 3 nights, got a superior 1 bedroom cabin, was expecting the bunk beds as shown in the pictures, But got the fold out couch bed, the mattress was very thin & it was very uncomfortable for my daughter, we put the 2 cushions down as padding.
The cabin was very modern and clean inside, cooking appliances were new but stove top was a bit tricky to operate. TV in lounge was big & both TV’s were able to play the USB devices. Although the TV in room had no digital TV reception.
The front of cabin had a high reed garden which had lots of rubbish in it.
Cabin was on the main road through the caravan park so lots of people walking, riding bikes and scooters past to the pool area or play room.
The park has several community kitchens so cooking is easily accessible.
Pool area is heavily gardened with the bird feeding area next to it. The pool is large and deep with a slide which is a lot of fun for the kids.
The pictures on website show you all the good stuff but not the areas that are in disrepair, some of the the rocks and tiles around the pool are broken and as with water there is a lot of pooling water with mould buildup around the back areas and on wooden slide ladder.
There is a waterpark which from the pics looks great. But closer inspection shows again lots of mould and a lot of the holes for the sprays are blocked with rust.
The play area has a big bouncing air pillow, climbing fortress, sandpit and basketball court. Lots of hours of fun for the kids.
Overall for a caravan park our experience was enjoyable
