“Fresh Shucked Oysters YUM”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 13, 2012

A friend and I were really craving oysters, he suggested SALT, I had not been there for dinner only breakfast, which was entailed cold food and rude service. However on this dinner visit we had the best oysters, shucked in front of us. We ordered 6 natural, 6 mornay & 6 kilpatrick…YUM YUM YUM, could not fault the dish at all.

For mains we had the salmon and eye fillet. The salmon portion was very generous and the side salad quite tasty. The eye fillet - cooked rare, as requested, was extraordinary, I know that is a big call but it is hard to find a good steak in Airlie Beach. The mash, sauce and beans were a nice compliment to the dish.

Our waiter for the night was a lovely young backpacker, very nice mannered and good for a chat.

Very happy with our experience, we will be back!!

Typical Airlie beach when it comes down to service......total rubbish. Backpackers who don't care as they won't be around very long. Food and cocktails were good though. Wake up salt and Airlie u need good service

“Amazing breakfast, both vego and carnivor catered :)”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 17, 2012

My partner and I wanted to stop at Proserpine for a decent breaky, being Sunday - nothing was open ( we both thought was pretty lame being a holiday destination at peak season) so opted to drive to airlie beach. Salt on the esplanade didn't make us regret our dicision. My bf got a big breakfast for $16.00 - bacon, sausage, eggs ( cooked your own choice of way), thick toast with real butter, beans (canned), roast tomato, hashbrown (pkt) and rosemary fried mushrrooms. I ordered the vego breakky - amazing- eggs ( went on bfs plate), hashbrown, roast tomato, mushrooms, fresh avo, thick toast, tofu slice (yum) beans, vego sausage (very yum) and 2 felafels (overcooked but ok). Coffee was good, meals arrived speedy in under ten mins. Waitress's were lovely and topped up our water. 44 bucks for 2 ppl - left very satisfied. Will return again. Not many places in airlie catering for vegetarians. Ps- most vegos don't eat eggs. A vego who DOES eat eggs is called an oVo-tarian...

This would have to be the best value for money restaurant in Airlie, it's fun atmosphere and outstanding staff make this place a pleasure to dine at again and again. Louise and Logan's amazing customer service, great menu and flavoursome delights make this place a must do for anyone visiting Airlie.
