“Unprofessional, rude, shocking”
Reviewed December 2, 2013 via mobile

The service was non existent, considering there was only a few tables there for the night.
The girl who took our orders looked miserable, and the girl in charge of her, Natalie, seemed to have some kind of power trip! A bit stuck up.
As for the food, hard to comment, after an hour and a half we didn't receive any food so walked out paying for what we did have- wine and bread, yet the general manager stole over $400 from our credit card. Called us w***ers over the balcony, then ran away. Called my room giving me abuse saying I need to accept that the money has been taken, told me not to return to the restaurant for the rest of my stay, and banned me from the wedding there the following night if I was invited. I would say avoid at all costs, but if you do happen to go, I hope nothing goes wrong in the hope you don't have to deal with Greg who I have no polite words to describe.
He told us he has an answer for everything if we took this further. Which we are, as it is stealing and morally wrong.

“Perfect for a sweet tooth.”
Reviewed November 20, 2013

My partner and I were told that if we wanted some great dessert while in Airlie Beach to try the restaurant at Coral Sea Resort. We are deffinetely glad that we did give it a try! If you have a sweet tooth their desserts are perfect. Most delicious sticky date pudding i have ever eaten! We had to return on our last night to have it once more before going back home! Only regret is that we never actualy had a meal there. Had a read through the dinner menu and food sounded delicious. Service could not be faulted either, out waiter, i think his name was Ben was fantastic.

“Restaurant of the year”
Reviewed November 13, 2013 via mobile

This was apparently voted restaurant of the year in the Whitsunday area and no wonder. The food is excellent and the setting superb.

“Outrageously Expensive Wine in FNQ???”
Reviewed November 11, 2013

A beautiful setting for a meal. Thisrestaurant would have to be one of the best we dined at the entire time we were in far North Queensland! The mail meals were tasty although I expected a crispy skin on my duck which did not happen. The entree listed as Tasmanian Salmon was not to expectation as was more like a fish paste and was deep sea salmon which is not a fish I enjoy, and not smoked salmon or even tasting like Atlantic salmon. Australian salmon is not a great eating fish! ehardless of this the second entree my partner ordered tasted far better.

We felt that beverage prices were over the top and the costliest we have ever encountered anywhere in our travels. Although my glass of wine tasted better than any other ordered during the time in northern Queensland where at $8 to $13 a glass or $45 to $50 for what amounts to ordinary tasting wine tasting similar to supermarket wine. A XXXX beer 6 to $8 a bottle which equates to $144 to $200 per case or more than three to four times the retail price !!!! A right rip off!
The wine list at clippers seemed a better choice re bottled wines however ordering wine by the glass was limited to all of one variety. This was the same elsewhere which is disappointing as when one does not want a full bottle of wine but simply a glass or two with the meal one would like to be able to sample a quality wine!!!! We skipped the dessert.

The setting overlooking the pool and bay was beautiful. The service good and not taking too long to be served. The overall price for the food and wine somewhat expensive.
