“Good views but too touristy”
Reviewed May 14, 2012

I would recommend to other travellers to get the daily ferry pass and do island transfers on your own rather than the organised Island trips. That being said I believe there are a limited number of ways to see Whitehaven Beach. I found this way to be a bit touristy and once we were on Whitehaven it felt like any other beach - it is beautiful like most Australian beaches but didn't meet my expectations after looking at pictures and reading on about it online. I found it to be a bit too commercial.

“Great day out”
Reviewed May 11, 2012

Great day out. Just enough time on Hamilton island and Whitehaven beach. Took the opportunity to hire a golf buggy on Hamilton Island which was a great way to get around and see as much as possible in the time there. Could have stayed longer on Whitehaven beach but who wouldn't want to in such a beautiful place. Good value for money and excellent lunch provided.

“Hamilton & whitehaven”
Reviewed December 16, 2011

We did whitehaven and hamilton island with fantasy cruises.
You do not need more then 3 hours in whitehaven. Its just beach and sand. If we did a full day, It would have been too much. 3 hours was perfect.

3 hours on hamilton island is not enough. You're best to do a smaller island like daydream or long island. Hamiton is HUGE. We spent the first hour trying to find a decent resort to spend the rest of the 2 hours at. We were given NO direction. We had to hire a buggy and drive around the island. We were given no lunch and no vouchers despite the advertisement. Dont do Hamilton in half a day. We did get a bbq lunch prior to arriving to whitehaven.

We also did Daydream and long island during a previous trip ( did not include whitehaven). These islands are much smaller and more worth while

Hamilton Island is worth the look and hire the great valued golf buggy to see the island, you must be 21 and over to drive

“Could be better”
Reviewed November 30, 2011

You are really only getting a ride to the beaches, nothing more. For the price we were expecting more of a tour experience. The scenery of course is spectacular.
