We've booked the two island tour with transfers from/to our hotel. They would pick us up at 7.20am. We were at 7.20 at the entrance of our hotel but the bus was already gone. We waited there for 20 minutes in the thought the bus had a delay. At 7.40 we called Fantasea who didn't know we weren't picked up. They told us to arrange our own transport to Shute Harbour were the boat left at 8.00 am. Waiting for us was not an option.
One minute before 8.00am we arrived at Shute Harbour were we needed to pay for the parking.
The staff on the boat was friendly and helpfull.
Arriving at Hamilton Island they dropped us off with no information about the island. We were stuck on this (boring) island for 3 hours that we explored in 1,5 hours.
The boat trip to Whitehaven beach was enjoyable. Arriving there, we could eat a hamburger on the boat (not comfortable at all!) Because there were so many people on board it took very long until everybody was served and then even longer until we all were transported to the beach. On the beach only 1,5 hours were left! We took the additional guided bushwalk that you could easely (and faster) do on your own. The guide studied his text and jokes very well, is was like listening to a recordplayer.
After that bushwalk we only had an half an hour left on the beach...
We saw Whitehaven Beach and Hamilton Island... These are beautiful places. But paying 145AU$/person for this kind of service is not worth it!
