“No stingers - No worries, mate”
Reviewed December 12, 2012

It is hot a lot in Airlie Beach, and you just need to get in the water for a cool-down. So in the Aussie summer when the ocean waters are invaded by those nasty stingers that float in with the prevailing wind, head to the man-made lagoon for that dip. A beautiful location with wonderful landscaping and full facilities including change rooms, showers, and toilets. Lots of room for everyone in this huge lagoon. It's only a few steps from there to food and drink after the swim.

“Refreshing!”
Reviewed December 11, 2012

We came to the lagoon later in the day around 4pm in Nov 2012. We were worried that the water might still be a bit cooler, but were pleasantly surprised that it was perfect temperature. Not too hot, not too cold. We went for a dip, and it was nice that there were seats along the ledge to be able to just chill out on. The lagoon was a good size, many sections for children, adults, and sunbathers. The facilities on site were great - change rooms, toilets, water fountains and best of all, there was a water filling station you can fill up a water bottle with chilled water, which is amazing on such hot days up in Airlie beach. Unfortunately our trip was jam packed with activities that we only made it to the lagoon once, but it is definitely a good idea to go for a cool down on a day you don't end up at a real beach!

the pool was good and there was lots of space in the pool and separate children and adult areas, although there was not enough space around the pool to lie on and you got very muddy.

Relatively new and a great place for families with young children. Great setting and very safe for children with life guards on patrol
