Owner description: Ocean Rafting visits the “Wild Side” of the Whitsunday Islands, the uninhabited islands with beautiful natural scenery brimming with marine, bird and animal life. There are two exciting tour options, the Northern Exposure and Southern Lights, and each Ocean Rafting day includes an exhilarating ride to Whitehaven Beach, pristine snorkelling reefs and guided Whitsunday Island National Parks walks. Ocean Rafting is the only tour to have direct access to the stunning and iconic Hill Inlet beach, and special snorkel sites at Hook Island and Border Island ensure a memorable underwater experience. The semi rigid inflatable vessels are super fast allowing guests to experience a fun ride, adventure and education amongst the natural beauty of the Whitsundays. The vessels were originally designed and built as rescue crafts and are driven by 450hp engines. 70% of the vessel is shaded, providing comfort from the tropical sun. Small groups allow guests to experience tropical paradise away from the crowds.Ocean Rafting has been operating since 1997 and is proud to have special permits allowing its vessels to visit protected areas in the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park. The Skipper and Eco Host will ensure guests have a fun filled adventure and personalised service, from the courtesy bus pick up in the morning to snorkel lessons and a guided National Park walk in the Whitsunday Islands.

“Great fun!”
Reviewed April 23, 2014

Despite less than ideal weather we had a blast. The two guides on Wild Thing Dylan and Braeden were extremely helpful, polite, accommodating and friendly. The boat trip was a wild ride at times but did not induce any seasickness at all. It's a different experience to being on larger, enclosed boats on other tours where we all felt nauseous and some of us were sick. The snorkelling at Luncheon and Mantaray Bays was amazing! Even better than the outer reef. Much more fish life and heaps of different corals. The only disappointment was that we were only able to spend a very short time at the Northern end of Whitehaven Beach. This was due to the low tide and the swell I believe, making it too dangerous to go there at the appointed time. So we had lunch and a swim at the less interesting Southern end before heading up to the Northern end for a very rushed bush walk to the top of Hill Inlet. I wish we could have had our full time at the Northern beach. There were heaps of fascinating Soldier Crabs in the flats and stingrays in the shallows that would have been amazing to observe for longer. The view from the lookout was still beautiful despite the rain and overcast skies. The little surprises on the way back home were a great way to finish a great day!

“Such a fun day on the whitsundays”
Reviewed April 23, 2014 via mobile

The team at ocean rafting were excellent, very friendly, professional and great fun to be around for the day. You can really tell they enjoy their job!

We went snorkelling at dumbell island then had lunch and beach time at whitehaven before a short walk for an amazing view at Hill's Inlet. Spectacular!

The speed boat ride between the islands was the best part (sit at the front!) before we got back our driver performed a few spins and donuts which was so cool!

Cannot speak highly enough of this company!

“Fun!!”
Reviewed April 18, 2014 via mobile

I did the Northern tour with more snorkeling time. Even though I didn't get to see any turtles on that day, the whole trip in general was amazing. William our tour guide kept us entertained, quite a character! knowledgeable too. We sat on the side of the boat on the way there, holding on to the roaps. That was fun however would only recommend it for anyone who is marginally fit. Buffet lunch was surprisingly good. I would definitely do this tour again

“The best in town”
Reviewed April 18, 2014

Everybody told us that this was the best excursion in town for going to the Reef - especially if you want to avoid being sea sick.
Everything about the excursion was great - a reasonable price, fun crew, a nice but simple picnic lunch and a couple of good spots for snorkeling.
A few more tips for novice snorkelers would have been appreciated

“Fun day out! Northern exposure. ”
Reviewed April 15, 2014 via mobile

Great experience.
Let's get the negatives out the way... Be prepared for a long wait on the jetty to get going. The checkin process for four boats takes a while. Stinger suits will cost you extra and they smell bad so get in the water quick! Either take snacks or cash for drinks and chocolate as lunch is late and you will be hungry.
If you've done the outer reef, fringe reef is a little disappointing but swimming with turtles and the magnificent fish in Mantaray Bay is a whole other experience.
Getting access to Hill Inlet and the northern section of Whitehaven is very special and not something you can get with others.
The crew were great. Prepay your lunch - it's well worth it.
Highly recommended.
