Had booked this place based on Tripadvisor reviews. Rates were excellent, and I ended up arriving 1 day earlier than planned and the room was made available. Daily rate was FAR cheaper than motels in Queensland. Yes, it is at the top of a steep hill, but once you enter your apartment and see the view, you won't care. If you can't manage the walk up the hill, you are probably the sort of person that doesn't walk anywhere anyway. There are lots of taxis available in town. The walk back up the hill gives you a reason to go for a swim or sit on your balcony and admire the view. The spa was not working during our stay due to a breakdown, but they were working furiously to fix it. Its mechanical, and things do break down. Its not the end of the world. The room was really clean, luxurious and had everything you could need. It was fantastic to wake up looking out to sea in the morning. It appeared that all the carparking is undercover, so no car damage if a storm comes through. Staff in the office were helpful, and to the people who complained about taking their rubbish out, you walked/drove within 2 metres of where it has to go everytime you went out. My brother and his wife were staying in a privately rented house in Airlie Beach for their daughters wedding, and after seeing this apartment, extended their holiday and stayed here. Highly recommended.

I was sceptical that a 3 bedroom penthouse apartment (with its own roof top pool) offered at such a reasonable rate could live up to the promotional material and it was with trepidation that I made the booking (for 8 nights), expecting the worst. How wrong I was!! The apartment (No. 37) was truly amazing - spacious, beautifully appointed (3 bathrooms, good quality bedding, full laundry facilities, dishwasher, outdoor dining, two tv's, sound system), clean and the view 'out of this world'. The pool was a good size for relaxing in (if you feel the need to do laps, there is a shared lap pool within the complex). The staff were very helpful and friendly. The only disadvantage to staying here is that to get these fantastic views, you need to be up a big hill and having a hire car (or taxi service) is the only way to avoid a steep walk up or down hill to the town centre. This applies to a lot of Airlie Beach accommodation though, so should only be a minor consideration.

Room Tip: Choosing a room higher up the hill provides better views and more privacy from other guests accessin...

Appartments are big, well decorated and romantic atmosphere. I would describe it as "luxury". Sea views from the terrace are great. Kitchen is well equiped. You have your own parking place. You just have to know that it is on the top of a hill and it takes 15 minutes walking from main street of Airlie Beach, therefore a car or a taxi (5 dollars) will be very convenient.

Just got home after a week at Reflections, and I miss it already! I have never walked into such a beautiful apartment - so spacious and clean! The views were amazing from the large balcony. We had the one room apartment which was enormous - lovely big kitchen, big lounge room, shower, beautiful bath, and big deck. It also had two sinks in the bathroom which was great - I didn't have to share with my girlfriend :) there is a steep hill to walk to get to the apartments but takes about 10mins tops from the main drag. You don't need to be especially fit - we didn't have a car and we were fine. Overall I loved the accommodation and I think we'll be back for sure :)

This hotel was wonderful. We booked the three bedroom suite for around $200 a night. The apartments were so spacious, divided into a master bedroom and a second bedroom, each with their own ensuites, as well as a room with two single beds, without an ensuite. The balcony was huge, and had a table for outdoor entertainment on one end and two sun lounges on the other. All rooms were airconditioned. There is shruberry that would potentially block the view of the marina if you were on the ground level, but from the higher levels, the view is AMAZING ! Great for families

Room Tip: Get a room above the ground floor

Loved the apartment and spectacular view from the start and had a wonderful 4 days without neighbours, then the weekend came and so did the noise. Rooms are not very sound proof and our neighbours below sounded as though they were above us and her heels were very loud at 2am in the morning, then they sat outside on the balcony and talked while their bath filled up and then giggled til about 3.30am so not much sleep that night. They weren't overly loud just everything reverberated. Rain was annoying when it didn't runoff properly from the balcony and when we went to enjoy breakfast outside your feet were in water the whole time and still there after a couple of days. Also rain stayed on the stairwell for days which was a problem for my elderly parents who were prone to slipping, had to watch them very carefully. Also without a car they couldn't go anywhere as walking was an uphill/downhill struggle. The price was a bargain for our 6 night stay but because it was drizzling the whole time would have been nice to have a towel change 1/2 way. There was a washer & dryer there so did our own. Pool was miles away from our room and very hard to get to, lots of steps, and you wouldn't have felt refreshed from your swim if you had to walk back everyday. Lucky for us it was the coldest May Airlie has seen in years and we didn't need to utilise it. Very steep driveway/road and so pleased my car rental company upgraded us to Auto. We come from flat land and I'd forgotten how to do a handbrake start. Even though you weren't suppose to, loved the cockatoos visiting each evening for a feed. To sum up is hard because it was so beautiful when we had it to ourselves and suited us fine but when our parents came we realised it was not suitable for everyone.

Room Tip: Need a car

The self service apartment is beautiful. However, don't expect the room to be serviced like a hotel or another self service apartment that provides daily services. The bed sheets and bath towels aren't changed. You must request replacement for toilet paper, soap, shampoo, hair conditioner, dishwasher and clothes washer soap. Then, wait for it to be delivered. The location is not good if you don't have a car. A walk from the apartment to the town takes maybe 20-minutes along a road that doesn't have total sidewalk access. The walk back from town requires a lot of energy, especially if the weather and sun is hot. Seniors beware. The walk will take the breath out of you on the last street to the hotel that is up a very steep hill. It's a climb! A taxi from the town can run you $8.00 AUD for a 5-minute ride - maybe 2 kilometers. Beware of the room you are assigned. Ground level - pool area rooms do not have a view of the water as advertised on Whitsunday Reflections web site. There are a lot of trees and shrubby that will block your view - especially if you are unlucky to get struck in apartment #13. Also, pool area rooms are very noisy from quests that start swimming when the pool opens at 0700 hours. Additionally, the pool attendant can make a lot of noise when he cleans the pool about 0600 hours. Rubbish is not removed from your apartment. You are required to take it to an area near the reception. Reception has very limited hours - closing about 1700 hours. The resident manager at reception seems to have ice water in her veins. She's all business and isn't seriously caring. She needs training to provide more friendly and quality customer service with a genuine smile. The Saturday and Sunday reception staff take over when the resident manager is off duty. Also, they lack good quality customer service. Don't expect a smile or a genuine greeting from any of them. If you book a taxi to the airport beware of an extra charge by reception for doing the booking. Book yourself directly for $15.00 AUD per person. Also, ask if there's a fee if the resident manager books any excursion trip. In town you can book any trip - no commission or service charge. If you book make sure you get a print out of your charges the night before you leave if you have an early morning flight. Reception opens at 0900 hours. I cannot recommend this hotel. If you can't have a view of the beautiful sea and bay area scenery why pay your hard earned dollars on a holiday for an apartment without it? Look elsewhere.

Room Tip: Make sure you aren't assigned a room at the same level where the pool is located because your vi...

Dear Veegee123,

Thank you for taking the time to write your review. I am sorry that your experience did not meet your expectations.

Upon reply to your email requesting the change to the arrival date as the wrong day was booked. I did advise we could not meet your room request and that the unit available was located next to the pool. As mentioned during your stay, if another suitable room became available we could room move you. The room that became available was next to your current room.

In regards to the serving of the units, we do not advise daily serving. Units are serviced once a week for booking 8 nights or longer. Any guest requiring extra room amities such as toilet paper, soap, shampoo, rubbish bags etc can have them replaced at no charge. As these items are not store at reception we do deliver them to the guest room.

I have email you a copy of your account showing the accommodation, tour and phone call charges. We do not add any extra commission to tour bookings. The cost for the airport transfer was charge $15.00 per person each way.

Please feel free to contact Reflections directly at info@whitsunday-reflections.com.au
