“Reef World is Amazing. Cruise Whitsundays are Pretty Good”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 26, 2012

We went on the reef world tour with them and initially the replacement boat that they were using for the day had an issue before we boarded. They were great about offering refunds, date changes or changing to another tour but in the end the boat was fixed with only 20 minutes or so delay.
The staff on board were extremely numerous with varying levels of enthusiasm and commitment. Of special note were 2 of the dive team. The one girl who was also training to be a helicopter pilot was extremely helpful and friendly and showed a real interest in what we were doing. Also the head of the dive team, a South African guy, was a very funny guy and a really calming influence.
I would thoroughly recommend doing the dive. It was an amazing experience, and they are very conscious of the fact that people are likely to be nervous or even scared. One of the girls diving with me was very nervous beforehand and the dive lead took extra special attention to her and she was really glad to have done it.
We also did the helicopter ride and it offered spectacular views, including great views of the heart reef but if you were going to pick and choose between the dive or the helicopter ride I'd go dive every time.

“Fantastic”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 22, 2012

My husband and I were staying in Airlie for our 1st year wedding anniversary and booked a day sailing trip with Cruise Whitsundays on the catamaran "Camira". Everything was so well organised from the booking to bus pickup from our apartment and day trip itself. The crew on the boat were entertaining, friendly and helpful. Would be the first trip we have ever been on where there has been plenty of time to do everything, so relaxing and heaps of fun. The buffet lunch and morning/afternoon teas were excellent and plentiful and the unlimited drinks, alcohol and softdrinks were a surprise but welcomed. The best trip we have done and value for money. We would highly recommend doing this wonderful day trip out around the Whitsundays to Whitehaven Beach and even snorkelling. Only dampener was the group of 10 or so teenagers who were their usual rowdy and think of themselves only but the other 30 people were great and overall everyone mixed well. Compared to the reef trip we did the following day on the large cat the Camira trip was the best.

“Don't Stay on Long Island!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 21, 2012

We booked this tour through our Greyhound bus passes, from sister company Awesome Adventures Oz.

the "Great Barrier Reef" day package on board Seaflight was well organised. The staff were very friendly, welcoming and knowledgable about the reef and dive, putting my friend and I at ease about our first time Scuba Diving. The boat itself was huge, and had plenty of seating areas depending on preference. Tea, coffee, morning and afternoon tea as well as a cold buffet lunch were all served at well timed moments in the day. The food was quickly replenished when out of stock and they had a bar serving soft drinks as well as other snacks if that didn't fill your appetite.

The introductory dive itself was great. At no point did I feel scared or uninformed and the divers were there to assist us at every step in the experience, very patient, although I'm sure they've done it a million times before. We especially enjoyed our conversation with Paul, although he called us dodgy English people! On Reefworld you could snorkel, sit in the sun, go down the water slide or have a look at the fish on the deck. There was plenty to do in the time we had there and staff were very attentive, watching out when we strayed snorkelling.

When we got to Long Island we were not aware that we wouldn't be able to buy food from anywhere else and both the restaurant and pool bar and cafe were quite over priced. There was a little store to buy noodles etc, but it was shut by the time we got there. We would have appreciated knowing this before hand so we could have picked up something in Hamilton Island while waiting for the transfer.

There isn't much to do in the resort apart from swim, sit by the beach, play mini golf or wii, and the nightlife is limited to who else is in the resort, which for us was about 500 schoolies. If i had the option again I would have stayed at Airlie Beach and done the package as day trips.

Our accommodation was basic, and the showers were at best a trickle, but for the most part clean.

Camira is a big purple sailing catamaran, we reached it from Daydream Island by tender and snorkeled first. We did less in the day as it took a long time to sail between locations, but staff were helpful and friendly as well and all drinks were included along with the food. Whitehaven beach was great and the BBQ lunch was varied and plentiful. The way back after lunch was a little boring but I guess the distances can't be helped.

All in all, a great tour, ideal for s variety of travellers, and the staff caters to everybody regardless of what visit you are on...just don't stay on Long Island unless you're looking for an expensive way to be bored!

“Lovely beach”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 21, 2012

The sand was soft, clean and pure white, the water perfect for swimming. Reminded me of W.A. beaches, definately the best beach I have seen in Queensland so far as there was no mangroves or mud, and the water was clean and clear.
