Cute new staff waited upon us, she was very helpful. Food is always good and the view from the deck is breathtaking. Being a vegetarian it is great to have more than one or two choices. The mushroom salad is very good.

I dined at Hogs Breath recently during their 25th anniversary. Airlie Beach is where Hogs Breath started and I was one of the original diners in the old corrugated iron premises back then. Times have changed, no live music, no cheap meals, no motorbikes hanging from the rafters, no messages written all over the walls and no atmosphere. One thing hasn't changed a lot and that is the tender slow cooked steak. I prefer the good old days.

Ate here both nights of our stay, First time was good and straight forward, but had a bit of a problem the second night as the filled pasta was very dry. Mentioned this when asked if all OK and manager turned up with additional pasta sauce within 2-3 minutes. Problem solved. Manager came along again a bit later to check if resolved. That's what service is about. Watch out for the geckos if sitting on the balcony, as can they climb up from the promenade below and sometimes "bomb" customers from above.

Was sat down early evening, ordered our meal, would you like baked potato, fries or mash? Ohh, we will both have baked potato thank you. Sorry, we have NO baked potatoes left, would mashed be ok? Sure, we will go mashed. 5 minutes later, waitress returns, SORRY folks we have no mash left, FRIES? Comment from staff, this is a regular occurrence.

Seriously HOGS it's 7.15 at night in a tourist hub and you have run out of potatoes, disgraceful.
What the hell are you doing? You are a business, a service provider and you cannot provide the service.

Perhaps send one of your staff to the New Woolworth's and buy some potatoes?
Perhaps establish a vegetable checklist to ensure you can cater for your customers?

Under the above circumstances, a more sincere apology and an offer of even a cup of coffee may have made some difference.

Will we return?
ONLY if we hear the management are taking their business seriously.
PRIDE & SERVICE delivery is urgently needed.

On a good note, our Steak was very tender.
We rated the atmosphere as poor due to uncontrolled children, not just a little noisy that's fine, but virtually uncontrollable. Perhaps staff should politely intervene with a request to settle, as several surrounding tables were clearly not happy.
