“Rude and unaccommodating”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 19, 2012

On a cold windy night, we had met with a group to enjoy a few drinks followed by a meal, something we do several times each year. The wind was blowing cold and damp from the road but staff refused to close the door (which could still be pushed open claiming it was a fire exit which was nonsense as fire exits must display signs saying EXIT.
Last time for us at Hogsbreath when staff put their own importance ahead of the patrons.

“Disappointing”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 18, 2012

Frequent Diner Members...very disappointing !
$31.95 for a steak that was very fatty.

Usually pretty happy with food quality but very poor of the cook to send the steaks out.

Service is always efficient.

Portion sizes & quality seem to be skimped when busy.

“Yummy”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 14, 2012

A little expensive, especially for a backpacker. But if you feel like treating yourself, the food here was excellent! Went with some friends for a goodbye dinner and it was my first time to Hogs Breath and I almost didn't regret spending $30 on a prime rib steak.. but the service was average. When ordering our drinks we were inquiring about prices and were told between $10-13$, even after asking a certain drinks price we were told that.. so of course the drink we ordered were $13. While ordering our food as well the waitress asked if we wanted cheese sauce on our veggies (of course) but we weren't informed that it was extra cost. So all in all, food was excellent, service was not that great. Don't let them be sneaky with you!

“waited a long time to be served!”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 29, 2012

We were seated to eat at a booth. We asked if we could sit on the balcony, but the waitress said they were all reserved. However the whole time we were there, there was hardly anyone on the balcony at all.
We waited almost half an hour before anyone came back to us to take our order. They werent particuarly busy and we were contemplating leaving when finally a lovely waitress asked us if we'd ordered. She seemed shocked that we hadnt been looked after and sat down at the booth with us, taking our order and quickly got our drinks to us.
Food was good and so were the cocktails.

Steak big but not tender or very tasty. Pineapple juice fresh but so bitter that even after several spoonfuls of sugar we still couldn't drink it
