“Beautiful Condo & Resort in Paradise (Palm Cove)”
Reviewed March 1, 2016 for a stay in February 2016

The condo itself was clean, comfortable, very spacious and gorgeous! The furnishings and decor were beautiful. The bed was huge and comfy. Very large TV's in the bedroom and also the living room. The condo is on the second floor. Views were gorgeous, but it was so hot and humid we were never able to leave them open. Be aware the resort sets the AC units at 22 and removes the remotes so if it's a hot and humid time of year, be prepared to have sweaty times, especially in the day. Thankfully every room had ceiling fans and the high setting was HIGH, cooled it off but dried out the eyes. Only one black leather couch, not 2 red leather ones like in the pictures, but it was OK, the decor pillows made it a little more comfy. Kitchen was very big & nice but could use some upgrades, blender and knives very dull. Not even salt and pepper, but we left the ones we bought. The AC in the bedroom was leaking all over the carpet when we first arrived but they sent someone right up and he fixed it quick and no other issues after that. Although the washer was weird and I had some issues with it. Was never quite sure what setting to put it on and it always took forever and sometimes wouldn't drain, and I would have to put it manually on spin. The pools and view were the best! Mountains and tropical plants/flowers all around. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. If you stay longer than a week they will send someone to change the sheets and give you fresh towels, but that is it. Walking distance to town (20 minutes), but again, if it's hot & humid, you will be worn out and drenched in sweat by the time you get there. Suggest renting a car. Haggle, they will come down some. Cairns Zoo is really cool and a mile away. The pools were really nice too, we spent a lot of time relaxing in them. Nice restaurants in town down by the ocean, again, stunning views. All in all I would recommend this resort and this room. Beautiful!! We didn't want to leave. Just plan for the weather and rent a car.

Liked best: The views & area, very beautiful & stunning. The condo is clean, beautiful & comfy.
Liked least: That the AC was set at 22 and the remotes taken not in room. The wifi was not the best, was OK but not great.

Management Response

Dear Kelita,
Thank you for your feedback and we are pleased you enjoyed your stay, it was certainly our pleasure hosting you. The wet season in Far North Queensland predominantly between November to end of April is extremely humid. This is why we must set the air-con at a fixed temperature, otherwise guests leave the air cons on with the windows open and hence causes them to leak. The months of June to October are absolutely beautiful and our peak season . The temperatures during the day are on average approx 28 degrees and dry. At night it may get as cool as 19 degrees but nothing a light cardigan can not handle.
The Esplanade where the beach, cafes and restaurants are located are merely a 400 metre walk / 6mins from the rear of our property via the back gate a nice short cut. If you do walk down Cedar road it is much further away as you described approx 20mins as the road is not direct.
We are so glad you enjoyed your stay with us in this tropical part of the world. We wish you and your partner all the best and hope to see you again one day soon.
Kind regards,
The team at Mango Lagoon
