The location of the hotel could not be better, the beach being across the road and an excellent bar/restaurant "The Rising Sun" at the front of the property.
Dylan and the rest of the staff could not have been more friendly and helpful.
They organised our airport transfers and our trip to Green Island while nothing was too much trouble for them.
Of the beach resorts north of Cairns that we visited, Palm cove certainly appeared to have the most attractive beach front and also included many bars, restaurants, small shops and convenience stores.
The Sarayi is ideally situated in the centre of this beautiful esplanade.

Location is great, Rising Sun restaurant/bar downstairs is great but thats it! The room was dirty, we were there for 3 days and even tho we requested a room clean, we never got it, consequently rubbish was piled up. Didnt even get a T Towel. The internal steps and area upstairs on the balcony were dirty as well. Beds were hard and pillows flat. The TV was big and cheap, very poor quality. Our view was over next resorts pool area. I would suggest asking for a front room overlooking ocean. The pool was a big disappointment, small and hot with no shade (photos are very deceiving). We discovered there are so many beautiful shady landscaped pools in Palm Cove but unfortunately for us this one happened to be the worst by far. The beach was closed due to stingers so couldnt swim in ocean therefore we had no nice area to swim or laze around and it was extremely hot while we were there. The reception was rarely manned which is most unusual for a hotel and when it was they were not very helpful.

Room Tip: There are many hotels with beautiful pools and gardens in the same location along the beachfront at...

Thank you jenmoi for taking the time to provide your feedback.

I have taken over as manager at Sarayi since your stay, and will take on board what you have pointed out. The items regarding housekeeping in particular have already been built into a regular program of works to ensure that the highest standards of cleanliness and customer service are maintained.

What a disappointment this place was, specially after noticing it got Trip Advisors Travellars Award for 2013. Has it ever been checked it out before awarding this 'badge' We booked for 3 adults & no third bed was ready even though we didn't arrive until 5pm. All 3 of us got hay fever immediately on entering the room due to the overpowering 'spray' that was used by housekeeping. Everything was dusty & after walking around in the room barefooted, we left terrible black marks on floor of white bathtub. It was obvious that the floors may have been vacuumed or swept but never mopped. No third person slippers supplied. Pillows were very flat & not effective. Remote control for tv didn't work & we had to ask reception to replace battery. Power point in bathroom would not operate the hair dryer so had to use in another room, but then it wasn't in front of a mirror. Advertises free wifi internet but this is very unstable & Internet & phone in our room kept dropping out. Swimming pool on roof has no shade cover & is very very hot. It is quite deep and only has a very deep step to enter the pool with no rail or ladder which makes it difficult for anyone other than the very agile to use. Nearly every time we needed to speak to reception (which is supposedly open at 8am) it was closed with a notice saying 'go & speak to someone' in the bar for assistance. Not ideal for women! Compendium says ask reception for advice/phone numbers for any 'beauty' salons, only to get answer 'don't know about that but think there may be one next door'. Whole place needs a good clean up. Will return to Palm Cove but will be avoiding this place.

Sarayi Palm Cove is the best location to stay in Palm Cove- beach over the road, excellent restaurant downstairs - The Rising Sun, and also a convenience store under the accommodation. Roof top pool and right in the middle of every thing the beach life has to offer. Many cafes and restaurants within 2 - 5 mins walk and wonderful views of the beach. I always stay at Sarayi - it is the best on the strip - small and personable accommodation. Beach front rooms are the best upstairs. - pay a bit more but worth it. The staff are caring every time I have stayed there!

Room Tip: Upstairs beach front rooms are best - but pay a bit more - worth the lovely views in the morning and...

What a great place to chill out ,We took a few days from the hussle and bussle of Sydney our room face the beach so each morning we relaxed and watched Palm Cove wake up and come alive. the staff were very helpful and friendly The restaurant and bar in the front of the hotel were great and the food was excellent. The views are great we are planning our next trip to Palm Cove. I would like to retire there but it,s just a bit to far away from the grand kids.

Well, hotel itself is not bad , could do with a spruce up. Had a good swim up in the pool, photos made it look like it was so luxurious tho. It wasn't. Our tap water in the basin was Luke warm when we put it on cold couldn't have a cold glass of water . Wifi didn't work. Don't really care about that tho. The housekeepers could probably "clean" up their act a bit as we found a dead cockroach in our fridge was such a nice welcoming gift . I did say something the women was apologetic , but If I were a hotel staff member I would have gone out of my way to make it up to the guest. But she didn't . I will be coming back to palm cove one day as it was the most amazing places I've been in Australia , but ill be staying at peppers , best hotel I've been to! As I had a friends wedding there :)

Hi Daniel,

I only started as General Manager at Sarayi in January this year, but came across your "little surprise " photo ! I can assure you that we regard the cleanliness of the hotel as a high priority. Since your visit, we have introduced a thorough and documented cleaning program, and also conducted a routine pest inspection / spray, which will prevent this happening again.

Regards,
John

The hotel looked fine. the room was more like an apartment. so it is more like apartments and the breakfast is not served at all, so you have to go to nearby cafe and get yourself a 12-15 AUD breakfast.
The reason why we go there is the beach. The beach is simply across the street and the view from the balcony we had was beautiful.
However I must say the the hotel lacked the style. and there were some WiFi problems.
