“Honeymooners Hevean”
Reviewed July 17, 2014 via mobile

My husband and I had originally booked our honeymooner accommodation down the road at Alamanda after being married up in the beautiful an magical daintree rainforest just past Port Douglas @ Bali-Hai.

We were so abysmally disappointed with the customer service, management & our apartment at Alamanda that only an hr from check in we repacked our bags and left Alamanda for Peppers, forfeiting a couple of thousand dollars! And we are not rich people by any means but the overall experience was enough to make us lose out on the much money!

At Peppers Palm Cove we were made to feel like absolute royalty!

We had a wonderful beachfront penthouse apartment w/ rooftop plunge pool. It was heaven....!

Alamanda had made us feel common as honeymooners, not special in any way and had not honoured our honeymoon requests and when addressing our disappointment of our arrival to a room with no requested flowers, champagne or beach front bedroom (as we thought we'd booked) they took no responsibility, offered no gesture of good faith (e.g vouchers, upgrade etc.) and the hotel manager personal simply told us "it's Palm Cove, everyone here is on honeymoon"... Making us feel utterly insignificant at an extremely important time in our lives. We we're gobsmacked!

Peppers Palm Cove received us with what felt like fan fair and as mentioned made us as honeymooners feel like absolute royalty. They personally gave us tour of rooms we could choose, they offered us discount prices and upon check in they offered us cocktail vouchers, buffet discounts for the duration of our stay, champagne upon arrival in our room and wonderful & superb customer service.

They made our honeymoon dreams come true! Simply incredible service, especially from the wonderful Jill on reception.

This was our second time staying at Peppers Palm Cove and the experience was just as wonderful. Truly.

We should have just booked Peppers Palm Cove for our honeymoon originally as our first stay was also sublime.

Our number #1 hotel of choice everytime we stay in Palm Cove from now on.

Stellar service, beautiful apartments, wonderful location and incredible spa!

Thank you Peppers Palm Cove & thank you lovely Jill on reception for saving our honeymoon and making this once in a lifetime experience so wonderful & special to us and full of beautiful, happy, warm memories for the rest of lives.

A truly wonderfully magic honeymoon at Peppers Palm Cove xoxo

Our daughter and her now husband celebrated their wedding day here. It was blissful.
Lizzie the events manager is serene and unflappable.
There were some minor! Hiccups. Such as my zip breaking and Lizzie knew what to do and who to contact with no fuss at all
The whole set up of the wedding venue, the good etc. simply everything was perfect.
A day we will remember always.
A good start to married life for the newly weds.
Thank you peppers

We have travelled in Australia an Europe fairly extensively as a family for a number of years and we would have to say that the Peppers Resort in Palm Cove has topped the list for amenities, service, aesthetic design, ergonomics and general ambiance. Nothing was a problem for the staff who were always courteous and good-natured. We had a family suite which more than adequately accommodated 2 mature adults and 2 late teens. Had a full kitchen, BBQ and dining on an out-door balcony, spa, laundry, 2 toilets and 2 bathrooms, (mandatory for teenage daughter), the layout of which belied its status as an apartment. We also had the pleasure of overlooking the Serenity pool which, apart from a few incursions by rowdy youngsters, was as it was intended to be, relaxing. The location on the main beach is also a plus with easy access to restaurants, shops and the sea water.
Thanks again for a memorable stay.

Room Tip: Building 6, middle of 2nd floor is our favorite. Quiet, spacious and easy access to most amenities.

We stayed in a spa room which was very small but well renovated with modern fixtures and a very comfortable bed. The spa was on the balcony and partly screened but not entirely private. A mix up with reception accidentally giving us the wrong room number, was immediately apologised for with a free bottle of champagne delivered straight away. I think this is very good customer service. The pool looked lovely but too cold to even contemplate for North Queenslanders! We enjoyed a delicious meal in Lime and Peppers restaurant. One drawback is breakfast which is not terribly well organised with too many people for the restaurant space available. It was school holidays though so that creates chaos for many places. Overall a very pleasant stay.

Recently spent a few days at the Peppers in Palm Cove. The location was fantastic. We really enjoyed the relative quiet of the Esplanade, the close proximity of cafes and restaurants, and friendly service.

Our room was just fine, but in need of some TLC, as the furnishings, paint, sliding doors, etc. were in pretty poor shape. Definitely felt like a partially renovated older building (we were in one of the suites at the front). Would have been nice to have elevators for our luggage, but none in this building. To the credit of the front desk, they offered to assist with our luggage. The main pool was very cool (as would be expected this time of year), but the "heated" smaller pool was reasonable, albeit still cool. Our room pool (one of the upper floor penthouses) was shockingly cold, but the kids swam nevertheless.

Took advantage of the Spa, and the masseuse did a great job. Breakfast buffet (included) was excellent.

Overall, a fine stay and we were happy.

A great hotel. Accommodation is excellent, staff were really good, buffet breakfast was very nice. Only slight negatives were the pool and the lighting in the room. The pool was freezing. If it could be heated in the winter months it would be perfect. Also, the lighting in the rooms wasn't great. I understand that many people like subtle lighting, but it would be better if there was an option to turn some ceiling lights on. Other than that, excellent place to stay

Room Tip: 3 Bedroom Ocean view was very roomy

Great stay at Peppers during June with gorgeous weather making it a top holiday and a destination we will surely return to. Location of the hotel is perfect. Staff were good overall. The pool is the drawcard here and it is certainly something to write home about. We loved it, but as is often the case, you had to battle the lounge hogs putting their stuff on the lounges in the morning and then heading off for breakfast and a spot of shopping before coming back late morning and expecting their lounge to be there waiting for them. I'd like to see staff take a more pro-active approach to curb this selfish and annoying behaviour. Breakfast was average and the set up appalling. Butter on the opposite end of the layout to the break, two salt and pepper grinders to share for the whole restaurant, food constantly running short and taking too long to replace, coffee machine broken, gluten free toaster broken and the list goes on. It was a point of contention for all guests during our stay. Other than that gripe however, we loved the hotel. We had a two bedroom apartment which was okay but a little tight for the five of us. Next time I will be booking the 3 bedroom family. All in all, a really great hotel.

Dear Patricija_D,

Thank you for your feedback it is appreciated. Our breakfast was undergoing a transformation after a significant renovation when you were with us - I apologise it was not to standard at this point in time. I am confident that all is now in order and Chef's new menu is hugely popular.

We look forward to welcoming you back!
