Peppers beach club Palm cove ticked all the boxes on our honeymoon.
We stayed in a penthouse spa suite in the serenity wing away from the busy hustle & bustle at the main pool area.
Our room was cosy & quiet and well kept.
Dinner @ Lime & pepper was delicious!
The desert been an absolute winner.
The pool bar was a nice addition to the sandy white pool.
Overall we had a fantastic relaxing stay.

We recently stayed for 3 nights in a Lagoon Spa Room, although small, we found our room clean and the bed comfortable, although the veranda was tiny (due to a large spa bath off to one side). Although the Lagoon pool is wonderful with the swim up bar, there was no loungers available.
We were told by others that people get up early and place towels etc on them to reserve them, although there are signs on chairs saying not to do this. I was up early one morning (5.30am) and saw one man reserving 4 loungers at that time of the morning. When we arrived at the pool after breakfast (8.30 approx) my husband promptly tossed all their gear off and we moved in - fight fire with fire. When they arrived some two hours after us looked puzzled and ask us if we knew anything - of course we acted very innocent. Serves them right. Other than that, enjoyable stay and would return - outside of school holidays!

Room Tip: Next time we would get a bigger room with larger veranda.

Thank you for your feedback, we appreciate it.

We are looking to purchase more sun lounges in an effort to meet demand over peak periods.

The best thing about Peppers is the central location and proximity of some excellent restaurants. The professional pictures look great. Reality is something different. The ‘resort’ is a quadrangle of 3 (or 4) story apartment buildings surrounding two pools. Two other blocks enclose the Tennis court, maintenance area and Serenity pool which is far from serene.

The sun-loungers ratio is one lounger for every 4th apartment. So, you need to be active, awake early and quite assertive to get one of just 56 sun-loungers in the pool area well-before before 8am. People with pre-school children seem to dominate the main pool (the sunny one) and seem to enjoy this very noisy environment.
Our 3rd floor lagoon spa room facing the maintenance area was quiet and private with the terrace doors closed. Avoid rooms facing the external walkways because they have no privacy at all. Breakfast was generous with a variation of pancakes one day and waffles the next.

If you are couple looking for time out in a ‘resort’ with secluded tropical spots or retired and expecting a view of the water Peppers Palm Cove is not for you. Don’t worry, Peppers won’t care, you are not the demographic they cater for. If you think of Peppers as a large hotel surrounding a safe, enclosed pool and are taking bunch of children, you will love it.

Room Tip: Only Block 4 has a lift. If stairs are a problem book this one. Block 4 on Serenity Pool side is m...

We really enjoyed our time at Peppers – Palm Cove. It is a great resort and with the lagoon pool, it is fantastic for families with children under 5. There are 2 other pools for adults, but if you are not holidaying with your family, you may want to avoid this location during school holidays.

This was our second trip here – with about 10 years in between. Not much has changed that I could spot, though the rooms have been updated. The rooms were clean and spacious, and the grounds were elegant. Breakfast (included) was always hot and tasty.

The key to making this a great resort though was the staff and service. They were outstanding! Our every question and request was met with helpfulness and good humor. They made our stay excellent.

If you have kids, this is a great place to go. The beach-like lagoon pool is fantastic for the younger ones. Teens might get bored at the pools, but there is a beach across the street with Surf Lifesavers on duty (high season only?) The swim up bar makes child minding a joy!

There are a number of shops and restaurants within easy walking distance from here, and you can easily rent cars for a day or so if you want to do day trips. This was the easiest holiday I can remember. We saw two wedding while we were there, and a reception. I think it was a great setting for them (though, again, not sure I’d pick school holidays to hold my wedding in the gardens next to the pool. I think you’d get some interesting wedding vids.) They also have a spa onsite with great services.
We each had a 1hr massage with Harmony who was great!

There are very few downsides to this place. You will pay for the experience, but it did not seem unreasonable to us. It was definitely less expensive than say Hamilton Island, or a comparable place. My biggest gripe was the availability of lounge chairs around the pool. The other guests would often put their stuff on chairs so that by 7am they were all claimed, even though less than 10% were actually occupied. It got a bit obnoxious when people would put their stuff on a chair at 7am to save it, not show up until 10:30, then leave again for 2-3 hours during nap time. I wish the resort could come up with a better system as it left many folks with only sand for sitting. I’d recommend they establish a better system or remove some of the gardens to make way for more lounge chairs. It’s a somewhat common complaint at these sorts of resorts, but not really their fault.
A larger room service menu would be welcome, as well, to make it truly 5-star.

Room Tip: 2 main room types - Suite with kitchen and washer, includes pull-out sofa. Good for small families...

Although Pepper's is a lovely resort there are a few important things to note when deciding to stay there. Firstly if you don't have children it is very noisy around the main pool which is the sunny one. We made the mistake of booking Peppers for a quiet week away without our children and did try the Serenity pool but it was very shady and cool and coming from a Melbourne winter we wanted to enjoy the sun and warmth. As for getting a sun lounge around the main pool - forget it. I did mention to a couple of staff my disappointment as this was supposed to be a relaxing holiday for us and there were no lounges to be had unless you reserved one by 7am which is against their policy but everyone was doing. Reception advised they are not getting involved in the lounge issue - I think this is a bit of a cop out and maybe they need to think of some other way of enforcing this as they do in many other places. When I complained to one staff member she told me they had 300 sun lounges for 600 guests - I couldn't even count 60 so not sure where the other 240 were hiding!

We had a lagoon spa room ground floor which was great although the noise from apartment above woke us early every morning. The only other issue that was disappointing was that our room was serviced mid to late afternoon every day so having an afternoon nap wasn't possible which was something we were looking forward to - we did ask for an earlier room service but were told this wasn't possible (we were in building 6).

Loved the tennis court and gym looked well equipped. Hotel is in a great location. The only other negative was the breakfast menu got a bit monotonous after a week of the same things every day - could maybe change it around a bit.

Other than this loved Palm Cove as a destination.

Nice resort, but heavily orientated to young familys, so would pick another resort next time as this was our first holday away (alone) as our kids are all grown up. The breakfast was nice, but the same buffet selection each day - could do with some variety. They have an issue with not enough sun lounges, and if you're not poolside by 7am to reseve one you miss out (there is no 'removal policy' of unattended towels that are used to reserve sun lounges - took us four day till we got one by the pool!). The rooms are nice, and the serenity pool end of the complex offered us a quiet position for afternoon drinks.

Room Tip: Serenity Pool area for quietness wit swim-up deck

My husband and I and our 2 children aged 9 and 10 have just spent 2 weeks at this resort. I would highly recommend it to any families looking for a place to stay in Palm Cove. I would definitely not recommend it to couples looking for a romantic getaway as there are children everywhere. We got a very good deal by booking privately .. a lot of the apartments are privately owned and not managed by the resort so it is worth looking into this especially if staying for an extended period. The only downer for us was the negative attitude of the reception staff towards us when they found out we had booked privately. They would not help us with anything and we found them very rude. All other staff including the concierge were great. Aside from this I would highly recommend this resort.

DearJulesandpeter,

Thank you for your feedback.
Our services are exclusively provided for Peppers house guests. Our staff service Peppers guests only and occasionally this leads to confusion as to what services are provided and by whom.
The small amount of privately managed apartments do not contribute any funds that I am aware of towards our operational business costs.
We would be delighted if next time you reserved your accommodation with us directly and we will guarantee the Peppers team look after you very well.
Kind regards,
Chris
