This zoo is truly a place to visit at night especially if you are a tourist and you'd love to get up close and personal with Australian Animals. From the Aussie BBQ & drinks to the expert commentary from the staff make this a real experience. This was a second visit to the night zoo from Melbourne. It's the only place where I have seen Koala's actually awake and walking around.....and where you can give them a cuddle!

Not a great variety of animals, i expected to see more, however they are well housed and cared for. The staff were very friendly especially the bird staff. If you want your photo taken with a koala this is the place for you, also they're effort in conservation is awesome!

The Zootastic is a new offering for $125 including admission and a picture with a koala. Everything is well orchestrated for your visit and you get to touch and feel the animals and learn more about them. I would highly recommend and a great use of time. I fed the lemurs, held the American alligator and python, fed the Cassowary, the crocodile (from a stick), and fed the rainbow lorikeets as part of the tour. You can feed kangaroos on your own.

They have a relaxed feel to the zoo, not so commercial. They allow you ticket to get you back in for another day within the next three days. You get a chance to pet the animals or pay to have your photo taken holding a snake, a crocodile or a koala.

Hi all

We went early, when the animals are waking up; sweet to see the red panda and wallabies half asleep. It is small and can be done in an hour and a half.
Staff are nice and the animals seem well looked after.
Crocs are real big.
There is definitely a zoo feeling that might be a disappointment if looking for something more wild but I cannot compare with the wildlife habitat in Port Douglas as we haven't been ( from what I read they are quite similar).
It is not cheap but Australia is not cheap.
Kids will love that zoo.
(You can see zillions of Wallabies in the wild by the Trinity beach roundabout on capt Cook hwy).

Cheers.
