We had 5 lunches at Deli Adrift whilst in Palm Cove a few weeks ago. We loved the Club Sandwich and also their muffins.

The staff are friendly and we looked forward to eating there each day.

Stayed at apartment located near this place and was recommended to try it. Had coffee and banan cake which was home made and very good. Coffee was not really hot enough, like a lot of places these days. Recommend to ask for very hot when ordering. I did on next visit and it was much better. Had lunch and was suitably impressed with fresh sandwich made up on the spot. Good value for money.

Great home cooked food and great coffee. Had take away lasagne and quiche which was very good value for money. Pretty busy cafe style so make sure you get in early for a great lunch. Vegetarians well actered for.

We decided to go to Deli aDrift mainly because of the reviews on this site. However we were very far from impressed with the coffee, food and service.

I ordered a flat white and it was basically not a flat white at all. There was warm milk floating on the top and it was exceptionally weak. When I raised this with the waitress she was far from apologetic and assumed I must 'like my coffee very strong.' I was somewhat taken aback, as I just like a good coffee! However she did take it back to get a double shot, but with little improvement. While it was stronger, it was still not a flat white at all! It didn't seem to be made with any love or finese.

As for food, my son ordered eggs benedict with ham on, surprisingly, sourdough toast. From the first bite something wasn't right. The hollandaise sauce was borderline inedible - there was a bizarre taste of curry which was interesting to say the least. The only thing that would suggest this was a hollandaise sauce was the colour, but even then it was lacking and bland. To top it off the sourdough toast was probably the worst choice to have eggs benedict on.

Our last diner had a lemon drizzle and while the taste was fine, it was very dry.

Maybe we caught them on a bad day, but we were a little shocked at just how bad it was! The one saving grace was the cost - I guess you get what you pay for.
