If you are going to visit Lichfield in the Northern Territory be sure to take a flight with Conrad over the area. 4 of us joined in for a great flight. On offer at the moment is minimum of 4 people a $100 eachvwhich is a steal and a once in a life time experience. The flight in the cesna was a total thrill. Please keep this in mind as an addition to your visit to lichfield.

Adam, our pilot was a Gem. Great local knowledge, and keen sense of humour . Our first flight in a Sea Plane and great fun. Lake Argyle and the Bungle Bungles, high light of our Trip to the Kimberleys.

As we were not in Kunanurra long and heard this company had availability on the day we wanted to go, we decided to go with the after the positive feedback from the tourist information. The flight was fantastic! We are both so glad we spent the money so we could see all the must do's at once and what better way to do that than from the air. Most things in Kunanurra are expensive, prices for scenic flights are fairly comparative though, we paid $299 for a 2hr flight and also got a free return shuttle pickup from our accommodation, complimentary water for the flight (the planes are small so carry on is limited) and a free photo booklet when we landed. The pilots were really friendly and super knowledgable, small planes can be a bit uncomfortable but these guys made sure everyone was happy and comfortable at all times. Seriously spend the money and go with these guys, you won't regret it!

Well first of all it gets very hot here at time so try and pick your times to be comfy and not so stressful.

This part of Australia is EXTREME in heat and humidity so it is not for the faint hearted..

Best times to travel here are: MAy- Oct. The wet times during Dec to March can see you trapped there for some time.. The roads in are very good however tghey are prone to orolonged flooding however most floods are brief and within a few hours you can continue your journey.
The Temp at minimum day time will bhe about 26 while nights can be as low as 12C however this is quite rare. Maximums are about 39C during the build up and can litterirally know you down.. When the temp is this high the humidity can be up in the 90%+ range and it is like walking through boiling fog.
The rewards are as follows..
The towns two main Pubs are the Kununurra and the "Tavern." they both have good music, open mike times and visting and local bands to assure you all of a great party... The food is very good and you just might be suprised how good it really can be way out there.
The Country Club has awesome food but it might be a little extra for the fine surroundings and nice service.

The Town Caravan PArk is my favourite place to stay as it has tent sites at cheap rates and cabins that are fully airconditioned and very self contained. There are several other caravan parks and the back packer accommodation places are very handy to the town.

Watch you personal security here.. i mean it.. DO NOT GO OUT AT NIGHT BY YOURSELF AND TAKE A TAXI IF POSSIBLE..
Do not bend to the begging og indigenous people here.. Humbugs are common and will even take your items to your car for you only to get money off you.. Do not look at or stop to talk to the obvious ones that do this as an occupation.
The Ord river offers an exciting venture for touring by fast craft or slow craft.. The fishing here is second to none and you can catch a Barra that weighs as much as you do quite easily..

The crocodiles here are common and WILL EAT YOU.. They are crafty and will sit and wait in the shallows with just their eye balls out of the water watching your every move. They will let you got in the water and they will let you come and go from the water to gain your confidence before they strike that fatal last and deadly blow.. You will never be seen again..
If you have a vehicle take a trip to Wyndom..Port Wyndom is majic and the lookout there is a must.. The pub there is a gallery of all sorts and the food is ok to..The museum there is incredible and will tell you all about the history of this amazing region.A flight over the Lake Argyle will bring you into a magic zone of amazement and astounding views of ancient lands..
The Bunbgle Bungles are easily attainable from the Kunnunurra airport by chopper or light plane.. well worth a look. The indigenous art shops are great value as is the Argyle Diamond shop and Annas at the supermarket complex.. The supermarkets here are good and sppecials come and go just like anywhere.. The trucks come in from Perth once a week on fri to replenish the stock so the specials are about this time of the week but be quick.
There are tennis courts, squash courts and a lot more than i can write today and you will be well rewarded with a special stay here. If you intend to go to the South when leaving take time to stop at Halls Creek and find a gold nugget for your loved one ..The gold here is pure..
If you are going to go to KAtherine the road is prone to flooding at certain times of the year and the animals on both roads are are continual hazard to be aware of.. Try and avoid night time driving.. Please give this area a shot because there are national parks gallore and a lot more that what i am writing here to do.. There is also work available in the field but ...Hey.. Be prepared and bring your hat and please drink up to 8L of water vevery day.. Plus an electrolite..

Cheers for now and have a great stay.

We spent an amazing 2 hours flying from Kununurra over the Ord River, Lake Argyle, the Argyle diamond mine and the Bungle Bungles. Our pilot was very informed & made our flight very interesting & as comfortable as possible.
