“Lake Argyle Caravan Park”
Reviewed July 17, 2012

We have just spent four beautiful days and nights at this piece of paradise. The views from the beautiful pool and spa are spectacular, the staff are so friendly and very helpful. They help you arrange tours and make sure you have all you need. The park itself is grassy and shady which is wonderful for caravanners. Very clean ensuite facilities.

Stayed here for 2 nights with a motor home - view from the pool was amazing and staff were very helpful.
Lots of things to do and see with the lake tours nearby and nice grassed park with lots of space, water and trees.
The only thing we were not keen on was the ensuite bathroom facilities with toilets and showers together in individual rooms.
Will definitely go back !

Thank you for posting your comments. We value your feedback and have taken on board your comments regarding the ensuite facilities. Within the next few years we hope to dramatically improve the quality of our facilities in the caravan park and will be building a new Resort Centre overlooking our pool and the magnificent Lake Argyle scenery.
All the best for the rest of your travels and please come back again soon to see the progress or our development at Lake Argyle.

Stayed 2 nights in a cabin. Beautiful view from the front verandah, thoroughly enjoyed my cups of tea early morning watching the different shades/lighting on the rocks. Cabin very basic, but clean and compact.Gorgeous little hand made soaps to use. Microwave and bar fridge. No crockery /cutlery. BBQ facilities very close and well set up.Staff obviously enjoy their work and this is passed on to the customers. Helicopter flights, sunset cruises , varying walks all available. The Durack homestead/museaum is also an interesting stop.Meals available for lunch and dinner, and pancake Sunday breakfast all you can eat sounds great! Pool only new and lovely. We plan to come back again when it is not so busy!

Sorry guys, I have to draw attention to your pool which seems to get a few people talking but not many swimming. I wonder if the people drooling over the pool in their reviews even dipped their big toe in it.
This is the most freezing cold pool we've ever come across. Especially after 6 months of travel & countless cold caravan park pools - we're pretty game & will swim in just about anything. Even braved a freezing swim in Emma Gorge the previous day, and as a family happy to swim in cool Tasmanian waters, we found the Lake Argyle 'infinity pool' totally unswimable.
After a very quick dip, we hung around and watched 4 fit men and a group of teenage kids do the same, only to last about 60 seconds in the water. All came out shivering and uttering our exact sentiments: what a waste to have such a great location and a great looking pool for the brochures, and going to such a waste being ridiculously cold and not able to be enjoyed by paying customers.

Hi KathC76,
Many thanks for your constructive comments! Yes, we do acknowledge that at this cool time of the year, due to the evaporative effect of the water flowing over the edge, our amazing pool is unbearably cold. It is an issue that we need to address and we are seriously investigating the most effective and efficient way to raise the temperature, so that everyone can enjoy a swim without freezing.
Once again, thank you for your comments, glad that you enjoyed the other aspects of your visit to Lake Argyle and hopefully we will see you back again one day to enjoy a dip in our amazing "warm" pool!!
Kind regards,
From all of the friendly team at Lake Argyle.

A short scenic drive from Kunnunara, Lake Argyle is a must visit place to stay. The staff (Leanne, Julie, Rod and Greg), are very friendly and helpful and assist you in parking and making sure you have all you need to settle in. The campsites are grassed with some shady trees to park under. The amenities are unisex ensuites that are adequate and clean. They have a bar thats offers meals for lunch and take away type meals in the evenings. We had the Dam buster burger and chips. Huge burger and very tasty. The infinity pool overlooking the lake is a perfect way to take in the view and keep cool. The are many walking tracks that provide exercise and amazing views. You can walk over the dam wall and down to the waters edge. The days were warm and the evening cooled for a good nights sleep. Make sure when you are there you do a Sunset cruise with the boys from Lake Argyle cruises. I would highly recommend a visit here.

We drove all day and came in late at night, the staff were fantastic, we were given cabin no 1
it was great ....basic but clean, newish and very comfortable, we opted for this as we didn't want to take the deluxe cabin for $300 just for one nights sleep

The next morning we woke up to one of the most amazing views

The Caravan park has a small shop, bar, great swimming pool and fuel

You'll love it

Haven't been here since '96! Has certainly come along since then.
I don't know what I can really say about the park, we hired an unpowered site, so not a lot to review. The pool is awesome and has a great view! The ablutions block was clean & tidy and looked modern & well maintained.
Staff are VERY friendly and helpful, without being overbearing or intrusive.
Love it and will be back again next year!!
