“Tidy and friendly.”
Reviewed November 1, 2012

We stayed 4 nights, stored our caravan of 2 nights while we went to Elquestro station and then came back for one more night. We are a young family with 2 kids. The lady at reception was a real treat. She told us all the hot spots, best flight to take to the Bungle Bungles and where to find all the local wildlife. The park as really well maintained and the pool crystal clear and refreshing. There are a few permanent vans but they are tidy we did not really see the tenants. We have found in our year plus of travel that big four parks are really loosing it from the standard that they used to be but still over charge. This park and the staff were an exception. We enjoyed our stay.

Room Tip: Ask for water front site at the 'town' end of the park.

We had the experience of staying at this park at the beginning of October, just as the warmer weather was setting. It would have been nice to use the pool to cool off during the hot afternoons, but the "bath ring" of scum around the water level kept both of us out of the pool. Too, showering at either set of amenities was made unpleasant by the soiled state of toilets and showers alike. Both blocks subject to water of unknown origin running across floors with broken and missing tiles. Generally the park and amenities have an unmaintained, run down appearance , not helped by unkempt permanent vans and caravan storage area. Unfortunately, this is beginning to seem like a pattern for most of the Big4 parks in which we have stayed during our travels. And all at premium rates when compared to others in the town.

Room Tip: Don't bother

I stayed in a 2BR Lakeside Spa Villa for 3 days and my expectations were exceeded. Friendly down to earth check in, immaculately clean and a great location.

Ideally located a few kilometers from town, this park is a great base to explore the Eastern Kimberly region. I heard about the park from some other travellers in Darwin and was not disappointed.

Good value, immaculately clean, fast wifi, great beds, gas hot water, good water pressure and friendly service - if that isn't a winner I don't know what is!

Room Tip: The 2BR lakeside villas are on their own lane way, you wouldn't even know you're in a touris...

We stayed in a 2 bedroom cabin which was located in a great location next to Lake Kununurra. The park was well presented and quiet despite the fact that it was full when we were there.

The cabin was clean and seemed new. It was a good size for four adults. The BBQ on the balcony was a great addition and we used it for dinner and breakfast! The balcony was a great place to relax in the afternoon and watch the activity on the lake.

I would make sure you bring good quality (strong) insect repellant as they are pretty intense during sunset but seem to ease up once the sun goes down.

Keep an eye out for the resident freshwater croc who seemed to spend his nights around in the fish feeding area - he wont hurt you, it's just really cool! This area is also full of turtles which are active at night too.

Advertised as luxury but average and small chalets.Lounge terribly lumpy. No vegetable peeler .COST $588 for 2 nights for 2 adults/2children which represents poor value.I suggest strongly Freshwater Apartments in Kununurra which are brand new and stunning in comparison.
Also be careful if you think you are booking a spa-chalet on line as there is a "flaw" in the system. We had this happen to us and the response from the managers was poor.Rather than an apology , i was accused of lying and made to feel I had made the error .I am awaiting a paltry refund ,yet to arrive after 2 weeks. This was by far the worse experience in our 12 nights in the East Kimberley.

Room Tip: our chalet backed straight onto staff accommodation and the loudest airconditioner day and night- sh...

We made a mistake during our arrival. We asked for a tent site and directly paid for it. When we saw the actual site, we didn't like it and decided to move to another camping. This was all within 5 minutes.
When we returned to the reception the lady didn't want the refund our payment. She was pointing to their policy several times.
I understand a policy when you reserve a site and refuse other people. But come on, this was all within a few minutes.
The attitude of the lady was just smug, she seemed to like the whole situation.

There are much better options in town...

We lived at this park on/off for 2.5 years loved every moment- including the bats, crocs, snakes and all things deadly!
Julie and David always smiling and cheerful and willing to go that extra mile and able to help- the grounds had a massive improvements and the accomodation was slightly dated but adequate! Leaves always an issue- perhaps dangerous for whatever may live underneath....The park is lovely and quiet and just the bit out of town to appreciate the gorgeous views of the lake and elephant rock!
