I was in CDLN in July, and went back, with my boyfriend in September, for a whole week, it was lovely. The owners are nice, the staff is nice, the rooms are nice, the dog is nice ... And the location is good too, especially if you don't have a car - the bus stop is 5 minutes away, in the "city center", the bakery, the shops are very close on one side, and the beach and restaurants on the other side.
For the DR, the price is very reasonable, 1500 pesos a night, breakfast included.
The owners are Canadians, so if you have issues with Spanish, they'll help you out.
Last thing, the whole peninsula is very pretty, don't miss Salto del Limon, and if you can, go the playa rincon (1h away by scooter). Don't rent a scooter at the rental place, they'll charge you 1000 pesos a day. Go to the little bar in front of Los Pinos, and ask them, you'll get one for 300 or 400, much better!More
