Every new place in the world including Manhatan Paris and LT need time for training. Those strong criticism after few weeks of opening are ridicule n wrong to post so quickly.Time will help to improve their capability. Everywhere everyone need adjustment and support.

niuce new location-- pretty and hip look. Bruno is trying to keep it all together but wiat staff is a mess-- poor English skills, very confused. We witnessed many get orders mixed up and it became sad and comical at the same time!
Still, the drink list is excellent-- nice, unique cocktails and the food was very good -- so hoping they can win out.

Always delicious, service is amazing! A must if you're in Las Terrenas. The beef, the fish and the seafood stew is amazing. The mojitos with red fruit are to die for.

Busted here in Feb 2014 the place looked very new and the staff were helpful but untrained. The aged steakwas disappointing and overpriced but my wife's burger was much better. Desserts we expensive and tiny but nice like. Overall not recommended

Me: fairly casual, well-traveled, and spent most of the day traveling across the DR and the remainder walking around Las Terrenes to get my bearings. 9pm Sunday dinner, entirely European and American relaxed clientele. Languages are as you expect, if you speak Spanish, English, or French (likely Italian), you should have no problem.

I've spent a month in the DR this trip, and let me be clear:

I have eaten at no finer restaurant while in the Dominican Republic or the Caribbean.

The drinks I had were on par.

Neither inexpensive nor horribly expensive. An excellent value for patrons of every budget. You can reasonably eat for $25 USD before ITBIS+Servicio without feeling overly restricted with entrees. The sky is the limit for $100 per-person, including a couple of drinks.

The first thing I noticed after sitting down was the heft of the menu. It isn't overly lengthy (though choosing what to eat did take awhile), but it weighs a few kilograms. It is a good sign: something is different here.

The parmesan croquette? I had a mouth-gasm. The Parmesan is just right, and they finish like butter. Each is easily four bites, so fair warning: these are not small.

The lobster bisque? El Lugar adds rum to theirs, and the result is awesome. I might be surprising a few restaurants by my new desire to dump rum in some bisque, but it was that good.

The seafood casserole was outstanding. A great counterpoint to the first two dishes (even choosing two seafood courses). The (noticeably) freshest vegetables along with 3-4 oz portions of mahi mahi fillet and lobster, in a beautiful wine and cream sauce, every part cooked to perfection, with a lovely wine pairing recommended by one of the owners.

The mojitos are made just right. Each glass a third-full of mint before anything else is added. Delicious, I would repeat for these alone. The rest of the bar is solid: Glenfiddich 12 and 15, Jack Daniels, St Germaine, Bombay Sapphire, and a few dozen other top-shelf liquors.

Black chocolate moelleux: Honestly, everything had been so good, I let them choose. I was not let down. Be sure to save room for this one, especially if you are a fan of any sort of warm-centered cocoa desert.

All in all, an unreserved and rare five rating, and that is having eaten in many of the wonderful restaurants found in the Dominican Republic. Honestly, this will likely rate in my top ten restaurants in the world, but I want to dine here a few more times to be certain.
