“The best day of our stay at Las Terrenas”
Reviewed February 23, 2013

We went for a full day on the road, stopped for coffee, rhum, cigar, typical lunch and jumped in the waves of a hidden paradise beach. What more could we wish for? The guides Patrick and Raoul were friendly, knowledgeable and made it so easy for the group to enjoy this day. We even appreciated a forced break due to a passing storm in a local bar in the middle of the coffee fields!
My first quad experience was a great way to discover the local DR life.

“6 four wheeling”
Reviewed February 9, 2013

We had a full day on this excurtion. We were suppose to snorkel when we went to the beach but found out when we got there we were not, even though it is advertised with snorkeling. The tour guide we had did not even know we were to snorkel. The 4 wheeling was alot of fun and we did get to see alot.

“All that you will need to know”
Reviewed January 13, 2013

This tour was great, I would recommend it to a friend!

Both of the tour guides were great, however Fernando, the local guide was really cool and knowledgeable. He went out of his way to share a ton of details about the environment which kept the locations interesting. Both tour guides were social and funny! The quads are actually nice too. Most of the quads I rented fell apart, but this company had nice quads for the clients. The guides quad died towards the end of the ride, but the other guide rode back with one of us so that we weren't inconvenienced in time. They went to pick up the other guide after.

We did a few activities, we first took the ATVs to a small outdoor area and waited for horses to take us to the waterfall. We took the horses up a treacherous road up a muddy hill to the waterfall while some of the local kids walked along side of us. Your guides do not go on this portion of the trip and the kids only speak Spanish. You get the chance to swim at the waterfall and then you take the horses back to the outdoor area where you are provided a nice local lunch. TIP: don't buy much from the vendor there, he is overpriced.

After the lunch you take the ATVs to a small shaq in which they roll cigars, the guy speaks English. After, you drive through a bunch of small villages and get to a small farm looking space with rubber making equipment. They take the tree saps and make rubber and you learn the process, which is neat.

We then took a FUN drive to a ladies home in which she produces coffee, chocolate and Mamajuana. She is very nice and you get to try the chocolate!!

Here are some pros and cons about the trip:

Pros:

- Great tour guides
- Coffee plantation (ladies house)
- waterfall, lunch, ATV ride

Cons:
- Horses are really small and skinny, and it's a bit strange that your guides don't come with you
- I wish there were more drinks available on the ride, we were all thirsty, so bring water with you
- Price, at 80$ a person or $3200 pesos, I expected to have my own quad per person, however it was two people per ATV and we both wanted to drive.

Hope this helps!
