Description: This little treasure of a restaurant hidden on Coson beach where many have enjoyed the great food and great atmosphere. A wonderful place to spend the day, eat great food, enjoy refreshing cocktails and watch the sunset on the beach.

We had to rate this place as excellent because the food and service was extremely good, in a lovely setting on the beach. Be prepared to pay a high price for a small meal.

lovely house with lawn in front and chairs on the beach. Filled with Europeans who ate and smoked with their little dogs for hours. Seemed a bit more business like, as most people were fully dressed, which seemed odd on this casual, beachy isle. The guy who seemed in charge was a bit pompous; the staff never smiled or tried to engage us. While the food was very good, it was not our kind of place. seemed too upscale for the setting! still, a good swim spot, clean rest rooms and a decent drink. its a shame a bit more charm did not exude!

On the beautiful Playa Coson, literally steps away from the gem of a boutique hotel, Casa Coson, lies the sweet The Beach. I'm embarrassed to
admit that after two visits to the DR, both times at Casa Coson, it was only on our last day that we lunched here. We arrived straight from a long swim, sandy and salty and immediately ordered fresh and tart mojitos. The service was friendly and personal as we sat on the cozy wicker-furniture clad porch soaking up the unique beauty of one of the DR's most extraordinary beaches. We shared shrimp ceviche served in a fresh coconut to start -- scrumptious. The Pinot Grigio was a perfect partner to seafood pasta which followed. This restaurant is a gem. Guests may stroll out to the beach -- perhaps 50m from the restaurant (all open-air) -- to comfy chaise lounges in the sand under palms to snooze after dining. Just grand.

Basic food too expensive. Noisy environment and slow service. I won't go again with my friends. If I knew it in advance I... spent my time in the beach.

Great ambiance. The fish cake is great. The croquetas are a most. Excelent food. Spectacular beach. Call for reserve. Bring cash.
