Description: The Dog and Partridge offers a comfortable space for socialising and meeting friends over a drink or two or having a meal in our well established restaurant. Part of our success is the warm welcome you get from the owners Grace and Tomasz and the rest of our staff. Our team of chefs are fanatical about producing fresh food that taste great and that means sourcing ingredients locally and cooking it fresh every day. We have a diverse range of products that are healthy and delicious and some that are a little naughty but still delicious. With a good choice of food and drink, open fire, brilliant garden and a warm welcome to both locals and those visiting our area no wonder the Dog and Partridge is bustling with people. With an added bonus of being able to bring your dog booking a table to eat specially at the weekends is a must.

Been here a few times as a friend lives next door. Never been fabulous but it's convenient. However, last night was probably the most shocking display of service I have ever seen. Having booked the "VIP" dining area (don't be fooled, there is nothing VIP about it at all) we were served by what I can only describe as a totally incompetent Manager/Owner who gave no support to her young staff. Paper napkins - no linen. Bread served - no butter. 2 hours to wait for starters. Wine served warm - ice buckets provided but wine not put in buckets. Having to call a waitress every time we wanted a drink from the bar - no initiative to check customers requirements. 13 diners at our table - 4 ordered steak - not one was cooked correctly. The list just goes on and on. All this on top of the rudest owner who has no desire to service his customers to any standard whatsoever as he thinks he knows it all. I trust he thinks he is onto a good thing as the majority of his business would come from the location of the restaurant being surrounded by it's local residents. However, if you are ever in the vicinity, passing through or visiting I would highly recommend giving The Dog & Partridge, Sunninghill the widest berth you can possibly give. Absolutely shocking.

The VIP area has a minimum spend which was agreed at the time of the booking few weeks before.
The party did not meet the minimum at the end of the evening and complained about every single thing possible to get away without paying the remaining amount. The party was 30 min late and then they did not want to order for another 45 min as they enjoyed drinks. The wine was put in the wine buckets with ice by my wife which is always very good with customers, she has attended to your table several times during the evening and nothing was mentioned to her about bad service. And the list goes on and on. We always display our prices so people know in advance how much is going to cost them dinning with us. If there is a party cost is always agreed in advance, no hidden charges with us. What you are saying in your review is that our local residents do not know anything about good service and good value. Please do not insult our local residents and your friends that come here as a regular customers. Tomasz.

We've been here several times as the courtyard is good on a sunny day, but the food and service last night left a lot to be desired. Drinks didn't arrive, the wrong main course was delivered so my son had to pick off our plates until his arrived. When his fish and chips finally came they were burnt. My caesar salad was a pile of lettuce with burnt chicken and croutons, plastic cheese - unrecognisable dressing. The £12 burger was good though. They were busy and apologetic but they need to do better than this.

These days it's a tricky keeping most pubs as a viable concern. The Dog and Pheasant seems to have got the balance between excellent local pub and quality restaurant food, and made for a super respite from a days drenching at Legoland. The beer garden has been turned into a well presented - if slightly more formal - decked courtyard, but we opted for inside near the small but well selected ale range. As mentioned in previous reviews, the menu concentrates on a few dishes done well, plus a daily special, most of which is home made and of good quality. Stuffed Pork with Black Pudding Risotto was sublime, and the more obvious burgers and fish were also highly regarded. More chips perhaps. Service was great and the pub has a great ambiance about it.Do track it down if in the area.

Eight of us booked the D&P to celebrate a friends birthday. Grace rang to confirm numbers, offered to organise the Birthday Cake and was very helpful.
I dropped Balloons & Fairy Cakes round before we arrived and everyone I encountered couldn't have been more helpful!
Unfortunately a few problems with the food orders but these were resolved quickly and everyone enjoyed the evening! Would I book again. YES! Would I recommend YES!

I think the venue was suitable for groups of friends, couples and families & the garden would be lovely in good weather unfortunately we had rain!

I had occasion to book the Dog & Partridge for a family celebration recently. We have been going to the pub for some years now, and have loved the changes that Tomasz & Grace have made. We booked for a party of 40 guests for an afternoon BBQ. The food was amazing as ever, perfectly cooked, really tasty and the absolutely right amount.
