We arrived at the hotel for two nights to find police and fight going on. No lifts, one receptionist. We booked twin room and got a double. Snoring kept us awake from next room. No hot water, toilet did not flush properly. Food left us unimpressed and wine over priced. This hotel needs a kick into the 21st Century.

Room Tip: Stay away from the new wing that has been added, thin walls.

Thank you for taking the time to record your first review on Trip Advisor following your recent stay with us. I am very disappointed to read the issues you have raised and would like to discuss these in greater detail, as some points are very different to the usual comments we would normally receive.

Just spent a thoroughly enjoyable weekend here. The grounds are stunning and our children loved running through the leaves, finding conkers and spying on rabbits! They had great fun in the pool too. Room was lovely and clean. Breakfast was great. We had the most delicious evening meal here, would highly recommend the sea bream or the steak and the meringue, strawberries and mint creme fraiche, yum yum! The waitress (driving instructor with a ponytail?) was an absolute star, professional, friendly and attentive. Nothing was a bother. Really enjoyed relaxing after dinner in the lounge in front of the fire, very cosy on a cold autumn night! Alan at reception was a hoot and most helpful, as too was the young lady with blonde hair? The cleaning staff were so canny and the Dutch guy was really sweet. Handy location for visiting legoland and windsor castle. Would definitely recommend this place and would love to stay here again. Brilliant.

Room Tip: Room 168 was great as it was next to a function room so you didn't have any noise at night and was handy for the spa.

Stayed a couple of nights with my partner. Large, comfortable room overlooking the gardens. Good choice for breakfast. The evening meal was excellent. All of the staff were great, friendly and helpful. It is not cheap but I would certainly recommended this hotel.

Stayed here for a night and our room was comfy. We had a bathroom with quite a small bath but lots of hot water. Shower not very powerful. Staff friendly but a map is needed to find your room, god knows what would happen in an emergency! Few hairs in bathroom that didnt belong to us :S Clean towels and comfy bed, but again a little small nearly fell out a good few times in the night! Ate breakfast but would reccomend going elsewhere, we got there at 9 but not much on offer as a whole and a bit of a pain to keep getting up to walk to the seperate room. They seemed V over staffed at breakfast and perhaps they could use the staff to more use? Over all value for money and set in very pretty grounds.

It's a lovely location and ideal for Ascot races - 10 mins in a taxi - but there's something weird about the customer service here. My wife and I stayed two nights over the Champions race day weekend , Frankel's swan song. The hotel was understandably busy, but the staff were not behaving normally. We were told there was no table available for dinner when we came down for a drink, post swim and sauna, yet they made no mention of the fact we needed to book a table when we checked in. Then, on departure we were made to feel it was our mistake that they'd ordered us papers on the Sunday, when we had not asked for these. Other than that, great food and nice atmosphere. The rooms were comfortable if a little tired looking. Not sure I'd recommend this hotel whileheartedly, but I suppose we could have just caught them on a bad day.

Thank you for staying and your review. I am very pleased you found the hotel to have a nice atmosphere and that you enjoyed great food. Please accept my sincere apologies about the short comings you faced with your table reservation and indeed the confusion with the morning papers. I have since had a meeting with both the Restaurant Manager and Front of House Manager and am confident that this kind of issue will not occur again. We really hope to welcome you back for another great racing weekend at nearby Ascot, though as you say unfortunately the mighty Frankel won’t be there!
Kindest regards,
