Great location, great care by the staff. A picture perfect place for a relaxing, romantic and a tranquil vacation. This home right on the white sandy beach offers free kayaks for the guests anytime you'd like to use it w/ prestine snorkling right off the shore.
There is one lovely restaurant walking distance away in a very private setting overlooking a beautiful bay. If you prefer roomservice and walking distance convinience in a hotel-like setting, this may not be for you. But if you're looking for privacy and an authentic cultural experience of the locals, this is for you! My husband and I had the time of our lives. Definately consider that you will need a rental car and that there is no air conditioning, so choose the right time of year to go.
There is lots to do locally which includes visiting the Mayan ruins, horseback riding, cenote snorkling, shopping and many great places to dine. One thing for sure.....at the end of the trip, you won't want to leave!

If you are looking for a romantic, quiet get away, Nah Uxibal is the place for you. Pristine clean accomadations with a warm Mexican flair surrounded by beauitful well kept flora, right on a beautiful white sand beach overlooking warm azure seas. Need I say more?

My husband and I stayed there for 8 days and cherished every minute. I am hesitant to tell how wonderful it was because it would be a shame if this little piece of heaven became too public. Plan to have the beach to yourself most of the time, bring (or you can rent in Tulum) snorkle gear and stock up on plenty of food because you will find once you are there you never want to leave.

We didn't have the pleasure of meeting Jeannette and Skip, but they were just great in helping us set up the vacation and all the instructions for the casitas are clear and directions perfect. Javier and Victoria are just great people and there to help with any and everything you need, and Rosa the manager is a doll and gave us such great advice on what to do and where to go once we were there. We did a few of the "must sees" like the ruins and cenotes and the canals of Muyil, but mostly we stayed at the Casita, which was the best part of the trip. The dogs are absolutely darling and besides being so cute they are great little guards.

Lay on the beach, read a good book, barbecue some fresh fish, blend up a few margarita's, snorkle the reef, take a walk along the beach and stop at Oscar y Lalos for a drink and some chips, sit on the verandah and watch the sun go down over the azure seas, and finally relax under a star filled sky with your love by your side surrounded by the sweetest doggies on the planet. This is what your day will be like at Nah Uxibal!

GO! But don't tell anyone else!

We just got back from the most wonderful vacation we have taken so far!. My husband of 36 years and I went to the Mexican Riveara and stayed a Nah Uxibal on the Soliman Bay!. We were there for 8 days and i could have stayed another month and it woulod not have been long enough! What to say, but it is a FANTASTIC place to just sit back and relax and not have a care in the world. Even though we both came down with colds, that did not dampen our time there. Snorking was both fun and exillerating at that same time. Walk out to the point in front of Oscars and stand where you see the breakers only yards away crashing and yet who only get a spray and maybe a foot bath once the come crashing down. So many types of coral, am going to have to get a book and brush up on them before we return next year! We want to rent the upstairs and have our married children come down for awhile. They now have a new puppy named Dunky. What a cutie!!!! Being a dog lover and having many around sure helped one feel comfortable and not yearning for those left behind. Jerry made us a wonderful, mucho tasty meal! In the pamplet you see some suggestions to go to eat and all. May we say go to Los Pepes and have their Cerviche!!!! You will never experience shrimp like that again!! So i wish to say this is one fantastic place. But dont want to see to many go as it will become more like up the road in Cancun. Russ and Sue

If you want a wonderful holiday, I strongly reccomend you to go to Nah Uxibal. The place is breath taking and you have everything you want: privacy, sea at 15 steps, gorgeus and perfectly clean mexican style casita, Victoria and Javier who look after you, hammoks, and 2 nice dogs - Lady - the laziest dog I have ever seen, and Solobina - a sweetheart who used to stay all the time with us and playing with the crabs on the beach. And if you lucky, you can meet the owners, Jeannette and Skip. They are a wonderful couple who built this place for their soul.

When we went there, there was nobody around, so imagine that we used to swim naked. Every morning we woke up at 5, as we could see the sun from our bed, took a nice breakfast prepared by my boyfriend and then jump in the water naked. The casita was the best and most convenient place I have ever been. Palapa roof,, all amenities (fridge, mexican souces, oil, etc), warm water all the time, a gorgeous shower surrended by plants, without the roof but you don;t need it, a huge bed from where you literaly see the sunrise, candle lights, books and music left by other people who went there. All the walls have windows so when you open the sunshades, it is marvelous.
Victoria and Javier are a nice maya couple who take care of everything. You don;t see them, they are very discreet, unless you want to speak with them, they are very shy and polite. But when we needed something at 11 in the night, Javier immediately came and helped. Ah, and you have a nice barbeque place behind.

In the last day, we met the owners and we felt so pity that they did not come earlier, as they are a nice couple always smiling and enjoying the silence and the place. They took us with their boat to see the mayan Tulum ruins from the sea and we had a great ride.

The bay is the best one on the mexican coastline. We have seen the others , but Soliman is the most wilde. All others are so crowded. There are some octopuses, a stingray family and Albert - the barracuda. don;t worry - they will never harm you, they are very qute and big and would sometimes swim along with you. Jeannette and Skip do a very hard work with the locals to preserve the bay and educate the locals to not fish there. Ah,to not forget, you have 2 kayaks so you can go to the edge of the reef and swim there if you want. All for free. The reef is great, we snorkeled there and saw a lot of colourful fishes.

What can I say? If you go to restaurants, there is a nice romantic one near the casita, but prices are...prices. What we have done was to go in Tulum, the village nearby and buy from supermarket, prepare at the barbeque and eat at our casita...on the beach, at the candles light, music....when I remember it, I start to dream again.

What can I say? Nah Uxibal exceeding our hopes for a vacation spot. Everything was what we wanted and more - from Soliman Bay itself to the stunningly georgeous home - we were all thrilled. Our family of 4 (2 sons, ages 11 & 17) rented the main house for a week. The boys loved having their own floor with the 2 futons, TV/DVD and pool table! We loved the privacy of our master suite and spent plenty of time reading in the hammock or on the beach. The kitchen was well equipped, the palapa roof is just amazing; most of the furniture is handmade, as are the doors - the home is an amazing feat of craftsmanship.
When we first arrived I was literally stunned by the beauty of the turquoise water and the white sand. This is a beautiful bay. If you like things a bit on the slower and more private side, this is the perfect spot. The bay has no condos or hotels, just a grouping of homes mainly with those wonderful thatched palapa roofs. We enjoyed some of the best snorkeling ever (and we own a home in Hawaii!) out at the reef with the kayaks provided. The swimming is wonderful. I think March & April are the best times to visit - not as hot as summer, but we didn't even need a sweater. No rain the whole week, just warm tropical breezes, just perfect! The smaller units looked really nice too - all with a full kitchenette and very tastefully done. Overall, the owners have great vision and taste and offer beautiful accommodations on a special bay. Tulum is 10 mins away for great restaurants (Mezzanine, Posada Marguerita etc). It's an easy drive to Coba and the monkey preserve at Punta Laguna (go early in the day or around 4pm to see the most)
Nah Uxibal is really special!

We recently spent 7 nights at Casa Nah Uxibal and found it to be a wonderful place to stay. The hosts have really thought of everything to help make your stay as relaxing and plesant as possible.

We had originally planned to stay in Tulum but we were so glad that we chose Soliman Bay. It was a lot more deserted and that made it more special.

We spent 2 nights in a casita which is definately the pick of the place and then 5 nights in another smaller room with not quite the breathtaking views.

We were particularily impressed with the kitchens and the level and quanlity of equiment they had. We enjoyed buying from the markets in Tulum and cooking a few times.

The onsite managers are very efficient and friendly.

This is a wonderful place, highly reccomended...

If you're looking for ultimate privacy & serene beauty, Nah Uxibal has everything!
Staying at Nah Uxibal during our honeymoon was one of our biggest surprises. We reserved Casita Ik well in advance and were basically the only guests on the property during the stay.
Property hosts (Javier & Victoria) were very nice and allowed to us to enjoy everything the property has to offer.
Waking up with the sunshine in your face and a clean-swept beach every morning was spectacular.
If you're looking to get away and have absolute peace and quite, this is the place. We highly recommend low season (September) since the weather isn't bad and the crowds are low.
