“Little slice of paradise”

We took our extended family of 10 adults and 6 kids (3-16) for a week over thanksgiving to this wonderful property nestled on the shore of Soliman Bay. We honestly couldn't have asked for a more perfect destination to spend our week together, everything from the location, to the facilities, to the staff was truly wonderful. (there are actually 3 separate units but you can book the whole property)

Laura (concierge) was always available, from way before we arrived to help sort out our general questions and food choices etc, and also to help us arrange transportation and give advice. She helped us sort out trips to Coba and a local Cenote, the Tulum ruins, shopping at the supermarket, and Xel-ha, though honestly there were those of us who would have been more than happy to simply remain on the property all day every day, basking in the glorious sunshine, or snorkeling out on the very calm reef, with the rays and turtles!

There were more than enough kayaks for everyone who wanted to get out on the bay, which as described in other reviews is simply fantastic, super safe for the kids and on part of the second largest coral reef in the world! There is a little outdoor fish place at one end of the bay, and a fancier bar/restaurant at the other end. Also a little shop for emergency needs (though it is expensive and honestly Rolando and/or Laura were always more than willing to pick stuff up for us)

The cooks provided the best Mexican food we'd ever had, even converting one party member who before the trip didn't really like it into someone who genuinely looked forward to every single meal. They also pulled together a special thanksgiving turkey for us at the last minute - and to say they catered to the whims of the children is a massive understatement.
Susie (the housekeeper) also did a fantastic job cleaning up after us all week, and even did some laundry for us when needed.

In all honesty the only downside that we experienced was with the mosquitos, around dusk each evening (4ish onwards) they descended, especially on the calmer days, and some of the children (and the adults with tasty blood) got a decent number of bites. So make sure to bring plenty of bug spray, and after bite!"

“Peaceful retreat.”

Great location to visit the area. The bungalow was spacious, always neat and cleaned by friendly staff. The property is right there on the bay. It's setting is really beautiful blending with its surroundings. The owners were very friendly and helpful. The Tolum public beach is about 10 min drive from the property.

“Have visited Soliman Bay but never stayed there and wish we had stayed much sooner.”

Loic and his wife Beatrice the perfect host. Miguel and Alajandra were the perfect care takers. The house was just as described and the location was better than anticipated. Very clean with all the toys to enjoy the beach and reef. Would highly recommend this for anyone looking for quiet yet close to Tulum and Akumal.

We cannot recommend this villa highly enough. We have just stayed there for 1 week, my spouse and I with our 2 daughters (8 & 2)
Loic & Beatrice (the owners) are extremely helpful, friendly ,knowledgeable about Mexico and can always advise on where to go and what to do.
Really private house, well equipped right on the beach. Great for couples/couples with kids or friends.
The view over the ocean is amazing and the pool is beautiful.
They also have canoes for you to go diving to the coral reef.(and all the equipment you need if you did not take yours)
And for those who just want to perfect their tan, they have nice and private area with lounge chairs either near the swimming pool or on the beach!
"Sombras del Viento" is a real find and would make the perfect vacations, especially at these prices, very little compares.

“Peaceful”

We were so happy with our stay!!! The home and beach are gorgeous! The layout of the Bora was perfect for just my husband and I. It is within driving distance of Playa del Carmen and Tulum but still secluded enough to get away from all the tourists. We would definitely go again ❤
