“Barefoot luxury”
Reviewed April 22, 2012

The moment you step in Jashita you know that you have made the right choice! The immediate feeling you have is being the guest in a luxury private house with staff pampering you all day. Breakfast is delicious with freshly cut fruits in the terrace overlooking the sea. Beach is fantastic and very quiet, you swim in a safe lagoon of max 3 meters depth full of corals and all sort of fish, with occasional rays and turtles. Swimming pool is beautiful and kept very clean, as the rest of the hotel. It is great to have a drink at dawn looking at the wood burning fire before enjoying the freshest fish you have ever tasted caught by the hotel owner Tommaso or a local fishermen (my family and I were on the beach when a small wooden boat came by to sell their daily catch and we could choose our dinner).
The location of the hotel is ideal because in a quiet and private area but also at a short distance from the many attractions of Tulum.
Would definitely suggest Jashita to anyone that appreciates barefoot luxury and wants to avoid mass tourism.

if you are used to big resorts, it will be refreshing and mind changing to spend a holiday at Jashita, a boutique hotel, with a fantastic private beach and a lovely customer service. Don't be fooled by the appearence of the mexicans, they are kind and gentle and unexpectedly full of attentions. The hotel is little but perfecly formed and it will leave you with thedesirel of making the same life choice as Tommaso, and move permanently to Mexico. Also, try to resist his charm offence!

Room Tip: the villa is fantastic otherwise go for therooms on the top floor

Located on a private white sandy beach, this beautifully appointed intimate hotel has everything you need for a tranquil getaway. The setting couldn't be more perfect. It's located on a beautiful inlet among private homes, yet close to the town of Tulum. The attention to detail that the family who own Jashita put into it, make it even more special. The staff and masseuses are attentive to your every need. When we saw the owner and the boat captain bringing in the fish they caught for that evening's fish entre, we knew we were in the right place. Oh and by the way, the hammocks on the beach under a thatched roof cabana will transport you to dreamland.

Room Tip: Ask for a Deluxe Suite overlooking the pool and ocean

Perfect Boutique Hotel on a wonderful beach. With only 14 rooms the Jashita provides the ideal environment for a relaxing vacation. It is a very relaxed atmosphere throughout the place. The owners and the staff pay attention to every detail and the rooms and common grounds, including the small beach area are spotless clean. We particularly loved the design - modern without beeing cool, a touch of Asia without forgetting the Mexican roots. The rooms are spacious and have a wonderful terrace and comfy beds. Bathrooms are good sized and have everything you need including a powerful rain shower.
We loved the open fire at the pool during dinner time. The food - Italian and Mexican - was great! Fresh caught fish and Italian pasta dishes were a delight. We never went to another restaurant as we loved the food and the atmosphere at Jashita. There is no breakfast buffet. Breakfast is being served with fruits, cereals, yoghurt, egg dishes made to order, muffins or croissants. As tropical fruit lovers we could have done with more fruits but otherwise it was plenty and well-prepared. If you stay for one or two weeks the breakfast can get a bit boring as it is the same choice everyeday. No variation in the fruit mix or jam.
The beach is very quiet - no motorized watersports. The focus is on relaxing, swimming and snorkeling. If you are a beach walker we recommend to pack some beach shoes as seagras and some tiny coral parts can hurt your feet. Jashita is the only hotel at Soliman Bay and cleans it's beach everyday. The other houses at Soliman Bay are holiday homes and therefore the beach in front of these houses might not be cleaned.
We had a wonderful, relaxing vacation and we will definitively return next year to our little paradise!

Our family spent an excellent spring break week at Jashita. The setting is screen saver beautiful, the reef is safe (shallow and calm) and alive with plenty of underwater activity (colorful fish, eagle ray, barracuda) to keep snorkelers entertained. The beach is quiet with plenty of shade or sun. Our room (double king bed) was very comfortable. The public and private spaces of the hotel are decorated to induce relaxation and calm. Attention to detail in the design is clear. Even the pool was a perfect temperature and welcome refreshment after a snorkel or swim in the bay. Tommaso and his staff are cheerful, helpful, and at the ready to provide for any vacation need. Let Tommaso take you out to see the Tulum ruins by boat, swim in a cenote, and visit the deeper reef outside the bay breaker. The food was excellent, too. We ate 3 meals a day at the hotel and never tired of the fresh Mexican selections, nor the Italian dishes created by Tommaso's chef. Fresh fish arrives on the beach hours before dinner to refresh the menu choices daily. Jashita is well located for touring, too, although we were hypnotized by the setting at Jashita. We began plotting our return while lounging on the beach. We will be back.

Room Tip: All rooms are good, but Room 4 provides walking access to beach and pool.

We were going to a wedding and didn't know what to expect. We got there, took off our shoes and never put them on again. And yet this was a very elegant place. Private beach, private snorkeling boat, friendly staff, beautiful rooms, great food. Family owned by people from Italy who came there 20 years ago. They have done such a beautiful job in making this place so relaxing, and so comfortable. I can't say enough good things!!

Room Tip: The Ocean View rooms are wonderful but I doubt necessary to enjoy this wonderful place.

I spent few days with my wife in this wonderful natural bay, closed by the reef. The rooms are elegant and very clean. Tommaso, the owner, very friendly and always available. The white sand beach is very well kept, Bibo is always ready to show you the amazing seabed or to go fishing with their boat, very professional! Breakfast and food was fresh and excellent in the outdoor restaurant and bar very well managed by Clemente and Maria. Wish we could be still there
