Nice "Twin Peaks look and feel" lodge, friendly staff, large and clean rooms with fridge, no WiFi though (or cell phone reception). Internet free of charge on computer in lobby. Breakfast available from nearby restaurant. No special things, but simply a good hotel room. Stayed here for two nights. Would book here again, location is perfect for visiting Manning Provincial Park.

My husband and I visited the lodge but were disappointed that there was no dining facilities only a poor restaurant serving burgers, fries etc. Our room was clean and attractive but as sixty-somethings we have come to expect fresh, healthy menus.

After reading many reviews here, we decided to stay at this resort, mainly for the convenient location.

We stayed at 2 Deluxe Cabins for a big group of 20 adults on August 13. ( Maximum occupancy for each Deluxe cabin is 10 persons.) The rooms look exactly the same as the photos posted on the Manning Park resort website. There are 3 bedrooms, a living room, a kitchen and a dining room area ( with a 10 person dining table) in each cabin. The cabins are roomy and clean. The kitchen is equipped with fridge, microwave, stove, toaster, coffee maker and cooking & eating utensils. The only minor problem we had is that there is only 1 bathroom in each cabin. It took us a while to lineup for shower at night. As this is not a 4-5 star hotel, we didn't expect to sleep on a good quality mattress or seeing a luxury bath set in the bathroom. With less than $45 accommodation fee each person payed, we are very happy with this choice.

The staff at the front desk, Pinewoods restaurant and the corner store are all laidback and friendly. They are also informative about the park and hiking trails. There is an information desk at the lobby where we learned about the trail condition, wild animals in the park and event calender. After a relaxing afternoon of hangout by the lake, my husband and I enjoyed some yummy pork bites and cold beer at the restaurant. The price is quite reasonable. ( $ 5 for beer, $6-10 for appies and $12-20 for the entree) The hours for Pinewoods restaurant are 8 am - 9 pm; for Bear's Den Bar are 7 pm - 11 pm. We also got some sandwiches from the corner store as late snack at night.

Room Tip: Check out Manning Park Resort website to get information. Cabins are Charlets are booked up quickly...

We were very pleased with the accommodations! Everything was just right! I was very impressed with the lobby of the resort and the outstanding artwork throughout the resort.
Staying in the middle of the week gave us big savings on the cost of the room. I would recommend this place highly. The meal at the onsite restaurant and country store was very tasty and affordable as well. We travelled to the Alpine Meadows and felt like we were on top on the world. Absolutely awesome vistas!

We had my wife's parents visiting from overseas and so took a 3 night weekend with my daughter and her family as well, to visit to this lovely spot again this past July 2011.

Staff very attentive to our needs. The Lodge is very attractively designed and accomodation very comfortable and clean. Restaurant food very good standard and adequate for 3 days before we ran out of menu options. Their breakfast buffet is especially good. Also a great country store with fresh food and prepacked sandwiches. We hiked along endless forest paths around the chain of lakes with our bear bells tinkling although I don't believe there were any sightings in the area. Water cold but swimable. Lovely spots to just sit in the sun or shade and think or fish. We also rented canoes and spent a lovely early evening in the calm, silent waters near lightning lake, watching the rainbow trout rising. One ten year old caught 5 or 6 fish so we also decided to fly fish on our last day - mainly for fun. Unfortunately the wind came up and made it pretty breezy canoeing in the valleys. A special treat was to drive up to the alpine area on the road opposite the resort, feed the very tame Clarke's nutcrackersand ground squirrels at the view site half way up; and finally stroll for kilometres in complete silence from the carpark at the high point at the start of heather trail.

This is really great place to spend 2 to 3 nights or even longer, in the report lodge or in cabins and chalets for larger groups. Lots of camping areas in the park as well.

We will be back again - maybe this winter to try out the alpine and nordic skiiing. But watch those roads through the pass in the winter, when approaching from Hope.

Came back to Manning Park after not visiting for several years. We had stayed in the cabins previously and found them to be a little on the rustic side so was expecting the same for the lodge room and was pleasantly surprised by the amenities. The room was large and spacious. Certainly big enough for a family to stay in it. There was even tv which I did not expect being in the middle of nowhere though there were only a few channels. For the price I considered it value for money.

We weren't overly impressed with the service in the restaurant though the food was good. The girls seemed very good at standing at the bar and drinking pop while the one guy ran around trying to do all the work. The beef dip was very tender and the dip was quite tasteful. We tried to go there for breakfast though at 5 minutes to 8 all the lights were out and there was no indication that the place would actually be opening that day. When we checked at the front desk we were surprised to find out that it was suppose to open at 8 as there were no signs indicating the operating hours. I must say that the woman on the front desk was very friendly and efficient.

As this is the only place to stay in Manning Park if you don't want to camp, it is a decent place at the price. I would stay there again.

We have stayed in a suite at new years for the past 3 years and in one of the cabins before that.
1. Cleanliness: no issues EVER, and we have high standards when it comes to bathrooms and food areas. The bathroom, fridge, microwave, etc. are always clean. Yes, the carpet areas are worn, but not dirty.
2. Staff: our phone reservations are always handled by polite and friendly staff, while the staff at the front desk vary - yes, some seem kind of stiff and un-smiling, and don't have much info. on the park - trails, maps, etc.
Location: this is an excellent place to stay to get away from it all. The resort has a middle of nowhere feel and the surrounding scenery is truly majestic and tranquil. Yes, the power goes out on occasion and some of the facilities - pool and whirlpool are temporarily closed while the generator runs to power the main lodge. It is part of the rustic-ness of the place, out in the middle of nature.
Facilities: NICE pool area, no issues with the water being too cold or the pool/ hot whirlpools not being clean. There was always a maintenance fella on site at the pool whenever we were there. Yes, the game room machines are often out of order and the games you can borrow from reception are missing pieces.
Restaurant: This is our only complaint, the service is usually bad when we've eaten there and the food of varying quality. The last waiter we had was learning English and got confused about our order. My order of pasta was cold and when I sent it back it took the kitchen forever to send out a new order, the new one drowning in too much sauce. Best to use the fridge and microwave in the room as much as possible or get one of the cabins where you'll have a kitchen. Bring your own groceries , the store at the resort has limited supplies and is not open late.
