“Very happy campers!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 28, 2013

Last year, my husband and I took our kids up to Blue Lake Resort for May long weekend. When we arrived we were welcomed with a friendly smiling face by one of the manager Jill. She took the time to make sure we would have the right camping spot, as our children were 3 and 5, and that we were aware of all that the resort had to offer. Our camp site was perfect! We had trees all around, a no-through road, and other families as neighbors. During our trip we made sure to explore with the kids and do as much as possible. They offered a playground, hiking trails, boat rentals, great fishing and so much more. The bathrooms and grounds of the resort were frequently being cleaned and taken care of by the friendly staff. Both Rick and Jill were very personable and make sure to make us feel important and taken care of, even with a full resort of other guests. We would definitely recommend Blue Lake to everyone. You get a beautiful lake and mountain views, a family friendly setting, numerous activities, and outstanding managers. What more could you ask for? We will definitely be going back!

We started out as three small families of the same larger family and ended up with four on the last day. They said this would be fine and gave us a double campsite. When the kids went to bed we liked to sit around the fire talking and catching up with eachother. Out of all of us there were 9 adults, aunts uncles parents grandparents and we had some drinks and talked. This was too loud for the owner who walked up into my uncles face with a flashlight and started harassing him and saying "THIS IS MY LAND THIS IS MY LAND I OWN THIS PROPERTY" We were flabbergasted. He was practically throwing a temper tantrum right in our campsite. Anyways this was at 10:30 and we went to bed half hour later. The next night we stayed up until 2 am talking. He came in and said we were all evicted. I said I could not put my one year old in the vehicle and drive he said HE DIDNT CARE! Of course we didn't go and went to bed. In the morning he PUT HIS HEAD INTO A TENT WITH CHILDREN IN IT AND MY SISTER WHOM WAS WEARING HER UNDERWEAR TO SLEEP IN. And said "TIME TO GO GET UP GET OUT THE POLICE HAVE BEEN CALLED" When the rest of the family heard that he walked into her tent like that, they exploded. The owners son started being rude to everyone and telling my little 6 year old neice that she'd better hurry up when she needed to use the bathroom. Then my 7 and 6 year old nieces were playing at the park across from us while we packed said that one of the men came up and said "they had better watch themselves"!!?? Because of how inexcusably rude they were being to our children and trying to intimidate the women, it almost came to blows. Then once he had riled everyone up and the cops showed up he acted as if we were freaking out for no reason. All in all, we paid for a service and felt violated. I believe we should have even gotten our money back. The resort is beautiful and the ladies at the front are awesome but its not worth it. This has been the worst vacation I have ever had because of the power tripping owner. Do not go there, there are tons of other resort around the same area and just as beautiful. Good luck and have a great trip.

On behalf of the staff and management of Blue Lake Resort, we would like to thank you for giving us the chance to host you and your family. We would also like to thank you for taking the time to share your experience with others.

With that being said, we genuinely regret hearing that your stay with us did not provide you with the service quality that you deserve. Please know that this is not the standard to which we hold ourselves, and that it is certainly not the typical experience of our customers. We apologize deeply for the dissatisfaction you encountered, and we will be taking your comments and presenting them to the rest of our team in an effort to prevent any such events in the future.

We do thank you for your kind comments regarding our front desk staff and what we believe to be our greatest asset, the natural beauty of the resort. I have young kids and I really feel like this resort is the place for us. The Managers and staff put a lot of effort into keeping noise and bad language down, and its turned into a really friendly place. The Lake is wonderful for swimming in, and the sandy beach lets kids play all day long, provided you don't run out of sunscreen! I know there are cabins but We just tent it and it's really nice because of all the amenities. I found it by chance and I know I will be going back.

Room Tip: The Rustic Cabins seem to be just a step above regular camping, not a deluxe experience.
