“Villa stay -excellent”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 23, 2013

Stayed in the Village Green previously but really enjoyed the Villa with views to Lake Hayes -large rooms, bathrooms and close proximity to the Clubhouse for breakfast. Would recommend this accommodation as a "must do" upgrade. .....we really love Millbrook!

Room Tip: Villa upgrade!

Thank you for your review regarding your recent stay at Millbrook Resort. We were pleased to hear that although you had previously enjoyed the Village Inn accommodation, on this occasion you had decided to treat yourself to an upgrade with a stay in one of our Villa Suites. Nice to know that you enjoyed the views to Lake Hayes and the extra room the suite offered you. We look forward to welcoming you back to Millbrook in future, to stay in one of our suites no less.

We recently spent a lovely weekend at Millbrook. We were warmly greeted at reception and a porter immediately took us and our luggage by electric golf cart to a Village Inn studio room, which suited us well. It comprised a king sized bed, walk-in wardrobe, large bathroom with shower and bath, separate toilet, tea and coffee making facilities, mini-bar and a table and chairs outside. The outlook was over the slopes of the golf course and grounds to the surrounding mountain peaks. The Village Inn, rather than being a single building as the name might suggest, is a group of differently configured and sized accommodation options, set out on a private, traffic-free path (parking is centralised a few minutes walk away) with beautiful gardens and streams with abundant birdlife - a very quiet setting, especially in the single level dwellings.
There was the option of full cooked buffet or continental breakfasts, with very prompt coffee and tea service upon arrival. Seating is indoor or outside on the deck overlooking the lake and grounds. Drinks on the deck of the Hole In One bar provided prompt, professional service and one of the best gin and tonics! Casual eating is available here.
Dinner at The MIllhouse was exceptional. Professional, friendly, knowledgeable service and excellent food. For example, we enjoyed a tasting plate of salmon, entrées of seared scallops, amuse bouche of raspberry sorbet with martini poured over, one main of venison two ways and the other a choice of meats or fish customised by a choice of sauce and accompaniments. Food presentation was excellent and the meal well paced. A flawless dinner.
Thanks to all concerned - we will certainly return.

Dear Parnellian,
Thank you for taking the time to post a review regarding your recent Millbrook experience. Glad to hear you enjoyed your accommodation in the Village Inn, which as you have mentioned is a small hamlet of cottages designed to feel like a small Village. Surrounded by gardens, streams and fairways and only accessible by walkways and bridges, we like to think this creates a special feeling of peace and tranquillity. It was great to hear you were able to enjoy breakfast on the terrace at the Clubhouse, a very refreshing (by the sounds) G&T at the Hole in One and a very special meal at the Millhouse restaurant. Our talented and dedicated Food and Beverage team were especially pleased to hear you appreciated their fare and service and thank you for your recognition of their efforts. We are very glad to hear you are looking to return in the near future as were certainly look forward to welcoming you back to Millbrook.

From the arrival to the breakfast, I loved the stay. We were taken to our Villa in a golf cart by a friendly Englishman. The grounds were all splendid on the way.
When we arrived at the Villa, it had an amazing bathroom and also outside a magic view of the mountains with all the snow of them and a beautiful sunny day.
The next morning the breakfast was just the best. The service was A1.

The grounds are indeed looking splendid at the moment, with lush green fairways, flowers in full blossom, all framed by snow-capped mountains, spring is definitely a special time of year. Great to hear you enjoyed the service provided by our team, specifically from Dale (Concierge) and also from the Clubhouse team who looked after you for breakfast. We hope we can welcome you back to our little slice of paradise in the not too distant future.

Having little prior knowledge of where we were staying (my travel agent took care of our entire Honeymoon) when we went through customs after arriving at the Queenstown Airport the custom's officer told us we were going to have a great time staying at Millbrook and she was more than correct! This place is so majestic and the service was superior to anywhere i have stayed in a long time. The cottage was so perfect and very clean. The staff was beyond great and they arranged a lot of extras for us (one of our tours ended up not being booked through my travel agent so the porter had to arrange it). My only negative would be that breakfast is expensive for the offerings that were presented. We decided to skip that and supported an eatery in Arrowtown. Again, a great experience and a wonderful stay! Also, try out the spa i had a facial and my husband had a massage and we loved them both!

We're locals really, as we don't live too far from Queenstown, but when we're here for more than a day or so we like to stay at Millbrook. Friendly staff, beautiful surroundings, very calm and a very relaxed spot. Thanks for a great stay last week too.

Room Tip: We stayed in a village inn cottage. It was lovely but we always make sure the underfloor heating is...

Such a beautiful place. The staff were exceptionally helpful, helping us with some restaurant recommendations and bookings, wines to taste from certain wineries and offering to take us places. The gym was well equipped too. Would definitely recommend for anyone looking to get away to peaceful surroundings. We'll be back!

Stayed in the older colonial style cottages and totally loved them. Spacious layout and wonderfully peaceful. As a golfer it was my main reason for coming and the golf was very good (next time though I will go for the black tees which looked pretty scary!), but even better was the attention paid to me by the staff. Every one always greeted me and ensured I was happy all day long. The personal touch can still be the difference in our automated world.
I guess my only fear is that the resort will develop and get bigger and start losing its current air of peacefulness and Olde World feel. But well done the staff!

Room Tip: For me it is all about the older french colonial village houses! Dont like the modern stuff as much...

Dear Mark C,
Thank you for taking the time to post a review regarding your recent stay with us. Fantastic to hear that not only did you enjoy our Golf course, the resort layout and your accommodation, but crucially you found our team’s service to be the defining memory from your stay. The Millbrook team and I were very appreciative of your feedback, as we strive to ensure our guests enjoy and value their time on the resort and it’s nice to know their efforts contributed to you enjoying your time with us. With regards to your fears about the growth of Millbrook, please be assured we have set strict development guidelines ensuring and that of our 500 acre’s, 95% will remain as open space. We hope we can see you at Millbrook again in the near future, perhaps on the Championship tees next time!?
