That was the response we got when mentioned we were staying here-followed by "do you play golf?" It didn't matter that we are not good golfers, have great fun trying and a lesson with the pro! The ground and set up are SO beautiful and the little cottages and heaven! Great food and service and total relaxation.

Dear Billymyb0y,
Thank you for your recent post. The owners of Millbrook set out to create 'a place for everybody' and as you have mentioned it doesn't matter if you play golf or not, Millbrook is a great place for anyone who wants to get away from it all and relax. That could be a coffee and cake in the Hole in One cafe, a massage at the day spa, a swim or soak in the hot pools, a round of golf or an entire weekend spent relaxing. It sounds like you did all of the above and more and we are glad the Millbrook bug took a hold and left you relaxed and rejuvenated.
Kind regards on behalf of the owners and team at Millbrook Resort.

We recently spent a weekend at Millbrook at a friends weddding. Service was fantastic, rooms are superb fittings and fixtures excellent and had a great nights sleep. Food was also excellent - we came away from the weekend feeling totally relaxed after a really great weekend. Only moan is the iron and ironing board were pretty average - common guys this is a cheap bit of the whole deal - but having to spend 25 mins to try to get creases out of a shirt isn't fun.

I recently visited as part of a work team building with my partner and couldn't rave more about this venue. The food was fabulous (including room service!), service was quick and always friendly, rooms were big, neat and tidy (and we were lucky enough to score one with heated flooring!) and the venue - wow! You could not find a more beautiful, picturesque spot. My partner enjoyed a great game of golf on the immaculate course. After a one hour massage at the onsite spa, I will forever compare all other massages to the Millbrook massage. This is a dream destination!

My wife and I just spend four nights in this luxurious resort. Specifically, we stayed in one of the studio units in the villa area, and we enjoyed every minute of it. There was a minor inconvenience, having to park our car about a quarter-mile from our unit, which was accessible only by golf cart or foot. But that was little bother.

The location is stunning, about 15 minutes drive from bustling Queenstown and right at the doorway to upscale Arrowtown. The property contains a lovely golf course and top-flight spa, and it's surrounded by impressive mountain peaks.

Our room was expansive with a comfortable king-sized bed and a well-stocked (though pricey) mini-bar. The bathroom was large, with a deep soaking tub and a clear-glass shower. The toiletries were high-quality, as were the two plush white robes furnished with the unit. A walk-in closet gave plenty of space for our clothes, and we especially enjoyed the French doors that opened onto a small porch that overlooked the well-groomed golf course.

The staff was attentive and professional, and they were quick to give us a ride to our room on golf carts whenever we asked. The reception area has a nice touch -- a bowl of fresh apples available for guests, along with a fire that was burning on cooler days. The rooms also are given French presses and ground coffee daily, a thoughtful amenity.

The most impressive aspect of the property was the beautifully tended grounds. The property at one time was a wheat farm, and the old buildings from those days are a model of adaptive re-use, beautifully preserved and paying proper homage to the agricultural roots of the region. Dazzling landscaping is everywhere -- from the ponds and walkways to the manicured lawns.

There are two eating establishments on premises -- a fine-dining establishment in the old mill house, complete with the original mill wheel still turning gently outside. Another more casual place sits on a hill above the reception area. We didn't eat at either one because we found them expensive, and we preferred to explore the nearby restaurants in Arrowtown and Queenstown, both of which have excellent and reasonably priced alternatives.

Because we got our room as part of a tour package, we had no gripes about prices, though we understand that rack rates are high. If money is no object, however, this may be just the place.

Room Tip: Try to get close to the reception and parking area. The farther rooms are quite a hike.

Dear pfbird,
Many thanks for taking the time to post a detailed and thoughtful review on Millbrook Resort. We are really glad you enjoyed your stay with us recently and that you appreciated all the little details we include to make your stay more enjoyable. Millbrook Resort is set on 500 acres and we are lucky to have the stunning mountains surrounding us as our backdrop.
It is good to see you utilized our golf cart service to get you to and from your room as this is a unique way to get around and allows you to fully appreciate the resort. Our grounds are tended to daily and our team of dedicated landscapers and grounds keepers take pride in ensuring the resort is not only maintained but that the grounds, golf course and gardens wow our guests.
It's a shame you didn't get to sample our restaurants, especially The Millhouse, which is one of the region's best fine dining restaurants, providing exceptional food in a very unique setting. It really is a delightful dining experience.
Your comments in all areas have been passed on to the various departments and once again we thank you for your kind words and review which contains some very useful information and insights for future guests at Millbrook.
Kind Regards on behalf of the owners and team at Millbrook Resort

This place is so nice, no better than that it's fantastic but and I am very sad to add the but.
It's expensive,
That said the resort it's self is sublime from the first class accommodation so close to perfect, the fantastic staff nothing is to much trouble, the golf course in mint condition every day and what a course, the spa, too the O my god restaurants, the dinning was spectacular and good value.
This leads me to think it's a refreshing change to get what you paid for, if you pay top dollar you should expect the best and that's what you will get here. Nothing but the best.

Millbrook is situated in the heart of the extreme sports world of New Zealand's south island. Easy access to Queenstown airport make it accessible. Nearby you can bungy, paraglide, sky dive, jet boat, mountain bike, golf, go to myriad wineries, cruise or helicopter through Milford Sound and the list continues. The service at Millbrook is dedicated but a bit slow by American standards. The food at the Millhouse is great and service is attentive. Don't try to rush through breakfast, service is spotty at best. The Hole in One Cafe offers a nice lunch and fantastic setting. The spa services are excellent and the facility is beautiful but the locker room is lacks amenities found at other luxury spas. The indoor pool, hot tubs and gym are the perfect remedy to a day of extreme sports. The golf shop is helpful; rental clubs were very nice. The golf course is challenging and beautiful. The rooms are spacious and well appointed. We enjoyed the heated bathroom floor, fireplace and lanai with views of the mountains and golf course. Stay at Millbrook, it forces you to relax and unwind!

Room Tip: Every room we saw was perfect!

Dear NoCheese,
Thank you for your review and kind words about Millbrook Resort during your recent stay. Millbrook's private and peaceful grounds are certainly conducive to rest and relaxation and it certainly sounds like you did both and got some rounds of golf in as well. Thank you also for your comments about the speed of some of our services and breakfast, which we have taken on board and have passed on to the relevant departments.

The views flying into Queenstown were spectacular! We were collected from the airport and then spent 2 nights at Millbrook Resort, playing 36 holes of golf in one day, (3 x 9 hole courses, playing our favourite a second time), starting with a full breakfast at the Clubhouse and broken up with a lovely lunch at the Hole in One Cafe and completed with dinner at the Millhouse Restaurant. The customer service cannot be faulted! Nothing was a problem, staff were friendly and attentive without being intrusive. Only thing that seemed out of kilter was the free shuttle to Arrowtown, yet you had to pay $20 per person, per way to go to the Arrowtown Golf Course. Cannot wait to return.

Room Tip: We had a village inn room. Very spacious, with outdoor patio and seating. Our only regret is that we...
