Owner description: Learn about the history and legend of the Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park by exploring its Aboriginal culture.

The cultural learning part of the centre is pretty good, but the rest of it is very disappointing.
It's difficult to get a decent map showing the different walks, the cafe was second rate (although the staff were very friendly) and the souvenir shop was badly stocked.

Spending time listening to stories, handed down from generation to generation, reinterpreted, retold and relived. The guides were very engaging, the young people particularly proud of their history and heritage.

While the Cultural Centre is definitely worth a visit and there is useful information there for tourists, my view is that they could do a lot more to make the experience more engaging for tourists. I think they could do more with displays about the more recent history of the place and promotion of and explanation of Anangu culture. The movie was interesting and informative but realistically the masses of writing on the walls is not going to be read by the average tourist. Somehow the Centre should find a way of opening the eyes of tourists so they can see the cultural and spiritual significance of the place and its peoples. Beyond the displays, it seemed that the site was basically a shop selling wares (which admittedly represent an array of very good artists), but I think there could be a lot more done to inform and challenge tourists.,
