Owner description: Learn about the history and legend of the Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park by exploring its Aboriginal culture.

This centre is a must visit prior to going to Uluru. It explains the Aboriginal stories and traditions connected to life in the desert and the importance of the rock. The cafe and shop allow for purchase of the traditional range of goods. Original artwork is available too though it is very expensive (but supports the livelihood of indigneous artists.)

Very well laid out, informative and educational, and architecturally blends in with the landscape rather than 'sitting on it'. A 'must visit' for anyone with an interest in the culture of the area.

We were fortunate to be there in perfect weather, sunny (but then it always seems to be sunny) but not too hot so we could walk and enjoy the spectacular terrain. Definitely worth the effort and the cost of getting here.

How much mythical "culture" can a Koala bear?
Any factual history or geology about Ayres Rock would put the wonderful indigenous mythology in context, and make this venue really worthwhile.
But there is none. Zero. Zip. Nada.
Luckily we brought a reference book along, and could explain the geomorphology and the history of initial exploration and discovery to the children.
Everything in the venue is ridiculously over-priced.

I enjoyed seeing the photos of aborigine faces, the crafts and static displays featuring the area. There were videos of people talking about different aspects of their lives and a very long film about the history of the local aborigine.
